Confessions to Elders
by megsmomma ini was reading the masterbation thread and it reminded me of my experience....it is sooo embarrasing!
when i was 13, my jw friend and i dicussed this topic.
we both admitted that we had the "m" problem...and we tried to help eachother with it by checking up on eachother...."hi....how are you doing with your "m" problem?.......not so good....did it last night....me too....." so we decided we needed to talk to the elders about it and on a thurday night we both asked to meet with them.

When I was 18 my best friend who was raised a jw but was never baptised, confided in me that she had become pregnant and subsequently had an abortion.
The elders knew I knew something, so 3 of them came round to my house and gave me the third degree. I told them everything because I wanted to be a good jw and thought I would be as guilty as her if I didn't reveal what I knew.
I felt like shit. They disassociated her and she went through hell with her family because they had no idea about the pregnancy. I lost someone who I'd been friends with for 7 years. I still feel so bad for what I did to her, betraying her confidence.
This is one of the many reasons I hate the org. -

How old did you expect to be when the New System would come?
by JH ini became a jw at age 28 and no way did i expect to ever get older than 40 years old in this system.. maybe at the extreme, i could have imagined being 45 years old, not more..

I never had a specific age in mind, maybe it's because deep down I thought it would never come!

evolution or creation? lets talk...
by Sam87 inok, lets have a discussion about where we all came from, evolution or creation?
(or whatever you beleive in of course) every one put down there main reasons, along with reasonable facts and backup as to why.. .
hopefully this doesnt start to many arguments, lol.. .

I tend to believe what really, really clever people have researched and offered proof and evidence for.
Therefore, it's evolution every time.

Who's giving out candy this Halloween?
by Cognitive_Dissident inyeah, so this year, for the first time ever, ever, ever, my roommates and i are having a halloween party, and there will be much candy given out to the small army of children on our block who will no doubt be trick or treating.
i'm really looking forward to it.
has anyone ever thought of getting all costumed up on halloween and then hitting all of the elder's houses?

Dubs that defied the blood ban?
by greendawn indo you know of any jws that have left the wts or were dfed because of the blood issue defying the blood ban and taking blood for themselves or their children so that they wouldn't die, needlessly of course?
we hear much about dubs that were brainwashed enough to go on to the bitter end but there must be many that pulled out of the insanity.
even so some may feel plagued by guilt and anxiety for defying the ban.

I just googled Paul Blizard and read his and his wife Pat's story. What they were subjected to by the WBTS is unforgivable. What happened to their daughter was awful, and they allowed her to have a transfusion to prolong her life as a baby but she died later aged just 6.
NONE of their jw friends or family attended the funeral! That is pure evil. And they think they have 'love among themselves'. WHATEVER!
