Have you changed your mind about ABORTION?
by nicolaou ini'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.
maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.
did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.

The idea of abortion repulses me, but that doesn't mean I think it is necessarily wrong.
I hate it when women use abortion as a form of contraception. If you can't afford to have a baby, go on the pill or use a condom!!
If there is something severely wrong with the baby or the mother has been raped or if the mother's life is at risk, then of course abortion is acceptable.
But I hate late abortions. I watched a programme on tv a couple of weeks ago and they were aborting a 15 week old fetus. The doctor crunched it's limbs off one by one and pulled them out. It was absolutely gross. And it's legal to abort a baby up to 24 weeks gestation. In one ward they will abort a fetus this old and in another they will be trying to save one in the neonatal unit. It doesn't make any sense.
I think the cut off should be 12 weeks, and in exceptional circumstances they should be done later but the fetus should be aneasthetised so they don't feel anything. The doctors are not unanimous on whether the fetus can feel pain or not.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I find homophobia abhorrant and that is one of the main reasons I know that the JW's have it all wrong.
You are what you are and people should love and respect you no matter what your sexuality.

A very good letter, which I shall bookmark for future reference.
You sound like a lovely couple and I am very much looking forward to meeting you both at the Apostanoodle in December.
You have lost old friends but you have many new ones here. Our love IS unconditional (unless your name is Trevor Spencer).

I love Meerkat Manor. But Flower is a bully, I hate it when she beats up her own daughters.
