Yeah, more JW urban legend. Come on if they did not make this stuff up, their lives would just be depressing!

Homeopathy popular in Jehovah's Witnesses ?
by Tigerman inis homeopathy ( the treatment of a disease using, in small doses, drugs that produce symtoms like those of the disease so that one's natural immune system can fight off the disease ) popular among active jw's ?
my son who was raised as a jw has a large ( adult male palm size ) fatty growth on his back.
his jw mother is treating him with homeopathy, as is a so called doctor.

The common theme here of course being, people prefer stories to statistics.
Well, I would agree to disagree w/ that statement considering there was a study done about melatonin in the journals of modern medicine, feel free to google it and read it for yourself. In particular it was done around 5 years ago and specifically addressed flight attendants and their irregular sleep patterns.
As for your black & white thinking and broad sweeping statements, hmmm, reminds me of the WTBTS way of thinking as well. Maybe a little "who knows, maybe we are all correct, because if you find something that works for you GOOD ON YA" I know, novel concept to be open minded and give a positive word now and again, but try it, it just might bring your memory back (hee, hee, just wanted to light the tone a little)

to add to avid's true stories - true story: my mother has an elder father and ms son mow her lawn and blow/shovel snow. One day she came home early from work because she was not feeling well, she caught only a fleeting glimpse of someone running out her back door. All her doors had been locked that day and no windows or doors were broken, so it was someone with a key (they are the only two that have a key to her house so they can get into the attached garage for the lawn mower). When she questioned the elder dad, he fessed up that his ms son is having some nose candy problems but they are working on it. He also fessed up that his ms son has taken to removing items from people's homes. NICE!!!! Guess what, the loser is still a ms in her hall. And guess what she is still using this guy and his son, because "everyone is imperfect and deserves a second chance" to which I agree w/ the statement, just not how it is being applied.

Cannot masturbate (that should have been number one on this list!)
Cannot have your ears double or triple pierced
Cannot have a tattoo
Cannot pull practical jokes (remember the article "what's so practical about practical jokes")
Can only date with a view to marriage. In other words if you ask her out, you might as well have just said "will you marry me"

Well, I am certainly not one to throw stones, but really the numerous stories that are "shared" during the assemblies that are based on true life experiences, they can be a little far fetched. Like the story of the guy who was robbing a house and then the people came home from the mtg and the mom read the kid a night time scripture about the theft who turned his life around. The mom left the bible on the kids dresser and the next day it was gone. Years later a man comes to their door to say "here's your bible, I heard what you read to your kid, stole the bible and started studying w/ the JWs and now I one of your brothers". Sorry, but I don't buy into the JW hooey!

I take a 3mg pill of melatonin and sleep great
Jay - I have taken melatonin for years. There was a study that was done using flight attendants and some were given melatonin and some were given a placebo. It was over a course of 10 years. The female flight attendants that took melatonin did have a better pattern of sleep and there was a DECREASED risk of breast cancer. Whether cancer is linked to a lack of sleep or if we are chemically missing something that is replaced by melatonin, I don't know. What I know is this, I have a stressful job, I have a hard time getting my mind to rest or stay at rest, thus, I need something and I wanted to avoid what the doc wanted to do which was giving me sleeping pills. Melatonin has worked for me for years. It is not for everyone though. Depending on the mgs, some people have very vivid and some what frightening dreams, so it has to be started low and upped over time to see what works for each person.

Cannot be friends with the opposite sex
Cannot say oh my god

Use of the internet is to be limited to respectable research
Anything that is said or done that is anti-WTBTS is apostate
