It looks like they are still doing depositions. Something appears to be due today, but it is unclear from the docket what is due.

I know for some JWs this change will be hard. One friend's mom recently said to me that she was wondering about the change because the thought use to be that when the Great T hit that the "friends" would all meet at their respective book study homes and now where are they going to meet because those who "hate the truth" will be watching the halls to catch and round up the JWs. There is a lot of panic in the air if you ask me! The old timers are struggling w/ the recent changes.

Why I respect Aussie Police and the job Cops do!
by Witness 007 inalot of negative press about police on this site..fair enough!
but here is a different view.
i have worked with police officers in australia for 3 years and i found them to be proffesional, hard working and reasonable people.

I think it depends on many circumstances. Cops absolutely have a hard job and more often than not it sucks. But you do have some cops who abuse their power (the same as any other job that gives authority over another human ... elders/JC/FDS) and those who allow the power to go to their head can cause a lot of harm.
I have had my own very bad encounters with some Chicago cops and they were out of line and very harassing. I complained to the appropriate entity but nothing was ever done. Thankfully I know peeps in the State's Attorneys' Office and was able to discuss the pending case with them and everything go resolved. But seriously my fear is that when these same cops get a few more years behind them they will just continue to grow in their abuse of power. Chicago has a horrible rep for police brutality and I can say though I only saw a little bit of it, I can only imagine what really happens.

If you look like your profile pic, I TOTALLY fancy you. Though I am not sure if "fancy" means the same in American as it means in English. But I am ok w/ that if you are.

Define "support" ... if you mean do I have jw friends that I don't argue religion w/ thus by acquiescence I support them in their religious beliefs ... then yes I support them. If you mean do I give them money ... no. My JW nephew is one of the few family members that keeps in touch w/ me and I love him to death. However, I don't give him money even though he is a struggling pioneer because I don't want him to think I support his position of not going to college and putting "the truth first".

Another reason I like Obama
by looking_glass inso you know how everyone is chatting up that obama promised the girls a puppy.
well during his press conference the other day he said he wants to rescue a dog.
i know one of his girls is allergic to pet dander, so they need a hypoallergenic dog .. but the fact that he wants to adopt a dog to me indicates that he is a man of the people.

I know one of his girls is allergic to pet dander, so they need a hypoallergenic dog .. but the fact that he wants to adopt a dog to me indicates that he is a man of the people. Why pay thousands of dollars for a designer dog when there are dogs out there to rescue. I hope he does rescue a dog. I think it would set a wonderful example to all the people out there who think if you rescue a dog you never know what you are getting and run the risk of getting a damaged pet.

Many years back, I went to pioneer school in Carbondale, so I am surprised to hear they shut their doors. I know John and Ramona Bush (John's second wife, his first wife's name was Rose - yes it was really Rose) from Benton. I use to know a lot of people in the Benton, Marion, DuQuion (sp?) area, but not so much any more. I did see John and Ramona several years ago and they were still pioneering, cheering on how they have a lot of new studies and how there were a lot of new people coming to the hall. To me it is just like it was 25 years ago, things don't change much in those small towns.
Carbondale was always such a hard hall. When I went to pioneer school there was a father and son team who were going to school as well. The son was the golden child of the school. I remember several months later we found out that the son had been enjoying the company of a particular girl. The dad felt that the kid should not have been df'd and there was a huge power struggle and ultimately the dad was forced down and stopped going altogether.
