It's been about a year since I joined this board. The progress I've made since then has been nothing short of amazing. I confronted the doubts I've had head on and discovered I'm not made of glass. I now have a confidence about myself that simply wasn't there before.

I still enjoy browsing this board, reading some of the personal experiences of new ones who have joined, like thebiggestlie, trying to help them down the path of self-discovery. Many of the regulars here, like Blondie, Leolaia, VM44, NN, JamesThomas, jwfacts, rebel8, jgnat, tetrasapien and so on contribute so much to this board. Thank you.

My personal life is evolving. I've made new friends. Started new relationships. I'm reaching for things I never even knew I wanted. I've been through the crucible and am better for it. The Phoenix is rising.

first time posting, long time lurking.. came upon this site on accident a few years ago and dismissed it as a site for disgruntled people; however, in the past months i actively searched for it as it stuck in my mind.

believe it or not, i practically read all of the topics.

i felt, wow, i wasn't alone in my thinking and feelings about some things.. it all started years ago in my last year in high school and then into college.

It all started years ago in my last year in high school and then into college. When papers/thesis/comps were required. Students had to cite their sources of information. I thought, hmm, the Watchtower and Awake never (or rarely) cite their sources and they're supposed to be "superior" periodicals.

Intellectual dishonesty is one of the things that made me realize the WT was not telling the truth as well.

i don't think i am an apostate, but do feel like one for being on these boards as we were always warned not to at the meetings etc.. i disagree with so many things they teach, the main thing is the blood issue....being a new auntie, i love my niece soooo much and if i were the only person that could save her, how on earth could i not?

i'd be blood guilty for not saving her!!!!!

that in my books, would be murder.. however, may be it's because i've only been away from the mtgs for a year, but i still think of it most days and although i feel i've made the right decision as nothing was making me happy in it, and obvioulsy my ex beating me and getting away with it.....i still feel a certain pull towards it and a kind of insane loyalty???.

I suspected your ratio of 1:3 referred to the number of Christians in the world and the total population of the planet. I'm also assuming you are making a funny about your belief in Christianity. "Hey! One-third of the planet agrees with me!" I was trying to demonstrate that corelating a high percentage of adherants means that belief has the ultimate truth about god is erroneous.

I know we are just having fun here.
