  Sept KM - how those "still in" can comment

  well all, we know this is a big deal.

  i for one will sit there during the discussion of this ariticle wanting to scream yet i will say nothing if i am not prepared, and of course i have to "comment" with an angle that doesnt arouse suspicion.. so here it is folks, we need to put together brief, very well worded comments to use during these meetings.

  During the "special encouragement" meeting I can apologize for my comment and then promise to only research WT publications in the future...starting with the KH Library. I'll ask for access to all the older publications so that I can see for myself how wrong I was...the Society has never flip-flopped. = )

  "Are we not thankful the slave has advised us to be wary of further research? As our latest district convention mentioned, research, especially when coupled with higher education, might cause us to realize the Society has flip-flopped or been wrong on a number of issues in the past. This in spite of the fact they are a modern day prophet with Jehovah's approval.
  
  Any discrepancy we might find in our research must be planted by the Devil. I suggest reading the book Fahrenheit 451 for a proper example of how to handle worldly books. Wait..nevermind...that would be further research."

  i went to the grocery store today - no that's not your fault.. it's 103 degrees today, not bad.

  there were three people sitting in the shade in front of the grocery store.

  there was a middle aged woman, an older man in a wheelchair, and a thin man whose frozen smile screams "elder.

  Were You "Refreshed" After Going To Meetings & Assemblies?

  they say that our spiritual food is sooo refreshing!

  it's "just what we needed"!.

  how did you feel after going out in the ministry or after a meeting?.

  Yes, I did feel refreshed after district conventions in the sense that I was able to continue going to meetings for another year. The DC gave me a sense of the larger organization, a sense that I belonged to something bigger than me, a strong pull for some people.
  
  The meetings and CA's did nothing for me. It was simply a routine.
  
  I remember the last DC I attended. I only went to Friday's session. I spent Saturday in a bookstore drinking coffee and reading science books. I spent Sunday driving around the area. I remember feeling *very* refreshed after that weekend.

  will die hard jw's see any control issues with the sept km?

  i once brought up the fact to my jw that jw's were not allowed to get together informally to do any kind of 'bible' studies without the approval of the elders, gb, etc.. he said that was totally ridiculous and false, more apostate lies.

  this was long ago now and i'm not sure he even remembers saying it.

  I doubt this will have a major effect on current JW's. They are conditioned to trust the Society. The Society protects them from Satan. This is simply another protection.

  What's your name for 'Watchtower Speak'?

  having put some distance in between us and the wts, i can't read any of the society's publications without feeling extremely uncomfortable and irritated by the tone and language that the society uses.

  it all sounds the same - patronising, guilt-inducing, condescending, intellectually unchallenging, etc.

  as far as i'm aware the term is 'watchtower speak'.
