  I believe Jehovah's Witnesses will continue to grow over the next few decades. Non-english speaking nations is where the growth has happened over the past decade. Perhaps this is because global population growth is happening in non-english speaking nations. Take a look at the demographic transistion model, which seeks to explain growth rates a nation experiences.

  

  The United States has entered Stage 4, low growth. Mexico, Africa, Southeast Asia are still in Stage 2. As they transition to Stage 3 and 4 and growth slows I think we will see a similar decrease in the number of JW converts.

  What will happen when all JW converts come from Stage 4 and 5 nations? What have we seen to date? In the United States and Europe growth rates have flattened and are probably declining once you account for immigration from Stage 2 nations. The ease of access to information about the religion in these lands has stunted growth.

  I agree BP, April 4th reminded me of the struggle we still face in this nation. America and the world are becoming increasingly multi-cultural and equal rights for all, regardless of race, is critical. It seems that every generation faces this challenge anew, and struggles to provide equal rights for all. Now we can see the struggle for equal protection under the law includes those not only of black, brown, or yellow skin, but those of differing sexual orientation.
  
  As a people, as a species, we must continue to push for equal protection under the law if we are to survive.

  Hey hambeak, to answer your first question I think everyone who has been through the Society has been messed up to some extent. If a would heals successfully, you get a scar... if it doesn't, you've still got an open wound.

  Now, when we leave the JW's, how many of us are indignant, angry, militant towards the organization for the things it has done? How many times have we seen an ex-dub come here and attack the org? Now, after things change..we have kids who never grew up as a JW. Do you think they will attack JW's in the same way we do?
  
  Wright is from a time where segregation was still legally practiced in America. Obama is not.

  Yep. I suspected it was taken out of context. Fear mongering is still part of the game. I for one have been impressed with Obama's reluctance to play that game. He has had many chances to play dirty against Hillary and McCain, but so far has held back.
  
  He could have also tried to downplay this issue with Wright, but instead chose to address the root problem, instead of the symptom. This is the kind of leadership we need right now.
