23I saw the Queen today!!
by dido ini went and saw the queen today, she was visiting a little town near me, so i thought, why shouldn`t i go and see her?
after stopping myself from doing that sort of thing,(like going to see princess diana`s flower`s when she died), because we were advised not to when we were jw`s.
it was a really happy day, people were waving flags, and the atmosphere was lovely.

Bluesbrother,-`Just fitting in with harmless little customs that bind people together in a common bond of humanity` is a very good way to put it. The only other time i saw a Royal was when the Queen Mother died, and i was in Brey, and saw the coffin being taken back to Windsor, Prince Charles was in the car following. Apart from that, i`m not a Royalist, but have got freedom now to do what i want, so can go to see and do whatever i please, and it`s GREAT!

Were you a Jehovahs Witness snob?
by plmkrzy inthere were always snobs in every congregation i ever attended my entire life.
when i was a teen and attempted to associate with other teens that were daughters of elders, because it was what my parents wanted, i had the hardest time trying to find anything at all to talk about.
for the most part all they wanted to do was gossip about others in the congregation and boast about their personal triumphs in field service or even worse; lets rehearse for our ministry school assignment.

I wasn`t a snob, i was `loud` cos i laughed too much! There were snobs tho`, different types, there were `spiritual` ones, who thought that they were sooooooo good cos they always did their w/tower, and other studying for meetings, and then personal study, ( what was that?) Never quite knew the difference, had a hard enough job trying to keep up with the other crap. They were always out in field service, always on the platform giving their boring experiences. Then there were, `my daddies an elder` little snob brats, who looked down their nose at you and your kids, because you were from a divided household. (they were always the worst getting up to mischief). Then there were the` i go and help out at bethel` snobs, oh so priviledged, and` we have the circuit overseer stay at our house,` bla bla bla! All in all, a lot of them were, because they looked down on all those horrible evil people, who they went out to try and convert??

Really? I didn`t know that she was on the back of your coins, she`s on ours, but she`s our queen! Well, she is 80 years old, and hasn`t done anyone any harm, and is quite a sweet old lady now.I was surprised how good her legs were, she didn`t have any varicose veins! Can you see the pics Nosferatu?

I feel this that doing this sort of thing is a little step to being `normal` or just doing thing`s that most of the population do, and that i am slowly integrating with the general public, and that it is not a bad thing to do. What have you done to help ease you back into society? I`ve added a couple of pics for fun!

My mum has died, and i really regret not sending her a mother`s day card and birthday card, now it`s too late! What harm does it do to show your mum how much you love and appreciate them? What is so bad about doing that? I do have a lot of guilt feeling`s over this, and the fact that my kids never had a birthday party. Does anyone else feel like this?

What did your worldly friends think?
by Fleshybirdfodder inat around 19 years of age i started dating a "worlding" girl and brought her to meetings to get the elders off my back (to no avail of course... i was "marked").
needless to say word got out and some of my other friends decided to check out some of the meetings.
one of my closest friends who had been to many church services (he is a gifted musician and played organ at his church and several others) came to a theocratic ministry school/service meeting.

Yeah Fbf, i got that every sunday afternoon at the hall, always had my afternoon kip there! Used to watch one of the elder`s who took the watchtower nod off, so i thought if he can do it, so can i!
