Why would God choose JW's over any other religion?
by JH in.
what do they have that other religions don't have?.
what truth do they possess, that makes the whole difference between life and death?.

The one thing they have that other religions don`t, is that they teach everlasting life on the earth, whereas every other religions teach life after death.

Do you think it`s hard to have a relationship after you leave?
by dido ini have been out for 4 years now, and find it hard to meet someone who i find is compatible.
one of the reasons being is that they haven`t experienced what it is like to come out of a cult, and i find there is a void there.
does anyone else feel like this?

Please don't take offence at this ...
by Joe Grundy ini'm not a jw, never have been, and in no danger of becoming one.. having read several of the wt mags and publications (and many more extracts on this and other sites) they come across to me as being very patronising in tone and full of pseudo-scholarship, misquoted (or unnamed) sources, references taken out of context, mis-translations, etc.
i'm aware of jw 'teaching' on the subject of higher education for its members (i.e.
not a good or necessary thing) so i can understand why many jws raised in it may not challenge the publications.

I think what we have to remember is that we have different types of people that become jw`s, the one`s that are brought up in it used to be discouraged from pursuing further ed. and there are the ones that come in after having an education, or because they are looking for something, as was the case with me. So it depends on your background whether you take to the religion, but their is no hard and fast rule, there are people from all walks of life that get involved, as we all know.

Hi Eyesopened, when you first leave you feel very raw, and it is so hard to adjust, as there is such a big void isn`t there?. I went for 3 years without any help at all, as i was too scared to look on `apostate` sites, (that name used to freak me out!) and only the past year have started looking on the net at different sites. I have only been on here a few days, as i thought it was a site for jw`s, and didn`t know it was for ones who were leaving or had left. I have found it to be very therapeutic just knowing how mant of us there is, and that we all feel the same, and we are not wicked people, in fact a darn site better than that lot we`ve just left! So hope it helps you as it is helping me and others, looking forward to your postings, Dianne

I think there is one word that wraps this up, and it is `vulnerable`.

What Used To Bother Your Conscience?

Joe, if your not intelligent, you dont usually pursue an education, unless you want to work your butt off.
