  Girls/ ladies, were the sister`s competetive in your congs?

  i don`t know about your congs, but the ones i were in became like fashion competitions between some of the sisters.

  i noticed how some of them would look you up and down, very obviously, then the following week wear something identical.

  i hate being the same as other people, so it used to p... me off, but i couldn`t believe how competetive they were.

  Moomin- i`d rather get out the board than stand there for hours ironing, as after you put it away, it usually needs redoing anyway. I know what you mean tho` it is quite therapeutic to iron, sort of soothing in a way.

  Has Anyone Got Any Proof That The Society Monitors Apostate Web Sites?

  i am extremely skeptical about this, yet people on this forum seem to talk about it as though it were a fact.

  so has anyone got any actual concrete proof?

  here are the reasons why i don't think they do:.

  I wonder if any of the monitors have questioned the wts after learning so much stuff about it on here. If i was one of them, it would def make me think about it. Anyway, i hope that the lousy elders in the congs i`ve been in do come on here and read some of my threads, as they would find out exactly what i think of them.

  growing up, i remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons.

  sister x wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems.

  certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems.

  Jeffro- the reason i questioned him following the jaguars is because they are dangerous animals and could have attacked him. There is no way i would walk down the road after 1, let alone 2. Also, i still do not agree with your interpretation of my experience, i have read about sleep paralysis etc., and still think it wasn`t that, or being under stress. It`s strange that everyone that has poo-pood these experiences hasn`t actually had one themselves. Maybe if they did they would have a different take on it.

  Restrangled- cor you lucky thing, he sounds gorgeous.

  candiddlynuts- i iron things when i need them, i don`t waste my life pre-ironing either.

  sspo- it was also in the states, as my friend was American, and she was sooo materialistic, but i liked her.

  ok so i am a ex-witness,(disfellowshiped) i have posted here before...but i must say why have'nt we moved on?

  come on i mean if we all really thought that the jw sect was just that then why are we not trying to forget it and let life go on as it has; and try to be true to ourselves and our neighbor and read jesus words as recorded in the bible?

  i have been reading my bible on lunch breaks at my work, as well as reading in the dhammapada.

  Why does it bother you that we come on here? You don`t have to come on here if it does. Personally, i found this site 6 months ago,i wish i`d found it earlier, as i suffered in silence for 4 years. I find it quite stimulating to come here and get the opinions of ex`s, as they can help in recovery, some have been on here a long time, and have got loads of exjw wisdom that we can learn from, in fact, it`s an education about the jw religion from the outside.

The elders wives were the worst, they used to compete against each other, i used to watch them and laugh about how `spiritual` they were, more worried about their homes and clothes etc. They had to have all the `latest` mod cons`. The one thing i thought was pathetic was the personal numberplates one elder had for his wifes car.
