the rest of the time i was too busy looking after my kids and getting to meetings etc.so didn`t have any spare time, esp as he was quite demanding, but it was a protection living in a `divided household` as i didn`t have to be 100% reliant on the org.

has anyone else in retrospect thought that it has saved them from a lot of problems that occurred in the congs?

Thanks Ian, i am really looking forward to meeting you and everyone there. I do struggle with life, as it hasn`t turned out very well for me, losing my family and my religion is a hard pill to swallow, but i keep going hoping it will get better.

ok, lets have a discussion about where we all came from, evolution or creation?

(or whatever you beleive in of course) every one put down there main reasons, along with reasonable facts and backup as to why.. .

hopefully this doesnt start to many arguments, lol.. .

I believe in creation purely and simply for the fact that human beings are too complex to `just happen`.

I don`t think so Ian, i have been on my own for 8 years now, so it`s too late, too much has gone under the bridge, but my whole family has split, so there is so much damage, and i`m the one who gets all the blame, because or the religion.

When a Jehovah`s Witness comes to your Door

when a jehovah`s witness comes to your door..do you tell them to go away and close the door?..chat with them untill they run away?..toss them on the bbq and have everyone over for dinner?

In the 5 years i`ve been d/f i have only had one tract put thro` my door a few months ago. i was putting out the rubbish the other morning, and they were just about to go in to my neighbour pathway. I looked up and caught one straight in the eye, and then shut the door. No-one has attempted to call on me, no shepherding calls, which i thought they were supposed to do, probably because i caused such a stink when i left, bringing an appeal, which was to expose the pervert elder in my cong.

pratt1- yes i agree there were certain benefits, my ex was very materialistic, and we had the best of everything too, but i didn`t appreciate it at the time, just wished we were a family united in the `truth`. I divorced him while i was still a jw, but do regret it now, as we probably would have had a good marriage, it survived 25 years. It`s weird as he is the one that has come out better in life in general, and yet i was the one who sacrificed so much, it`s not fair! So much for god looking after you, i feel abandoned.

Amish forgivness

i saw a part on the today show where matt was asking if it was possible an emotional disconnect to be able to forgive immidietly after such a terrible tragedy.

i personally feel it is not natural to be able to forgive something so big so quickly and it makes me think they all put on a front because they are a cult-like group too.

if they said "one family is forgiving, and another family is mad as h*ll about the whole thing,"it would be much more believable to me.
