  Short of elders/MS why the silly microphone policy

  ok - in our circuit anyway loads of brothers who get less than the national average hours can not do microphones etc.

  now if you are short of elders it makes zero sense.

  why not let every brother who is a regular publisher do mics/platform/literature/mags etc?.

  here's my yearly tips for those unfortunate enough to be going to the assembly.......there's alot of newbies here who just might benefit from sum of deeze tips.

  feel free to add your own tips as we all know the lord loves a cheerful giver: going to the assembly this year?

  Re Nameless_One's comment about destroying this trash if you don't want it for reference....

  My wife found a "treasure trove" of old witchtowers and asleeps at the local tip's recycling section. It appears that the tip attendant had retrieved them from the landfill as "someone might be interested in them". As my wife is studying with the witnesses, this was too good a find to pass up.

  Upon recounting this story to the local elder's wife (who she studies with) it appears (was alleged??) that one of the other elders had years ago found a pile of discarded WTS crap, read it, contacted the local hall and converted. Also his wife & kids.

  Moral of the story is, even accounting for JW "urban legends" that you should destroy by burning or pulping or some other positive and permanent means any literature you don't want or can't pass onto someone who can make good (non-WTS) use of it. The last thing you want is to be the conduit of someone's entry into this most regrettable of societies.

  hello i posted here a few months back in february about a situation i had with a jw girl.

  if i last recall from that time she wasnt "feeling" me during that time.

  but now all that has changed.

  Be aware that the JW's are trained to convince others of the "correctness" of their teachings. YOU run a great risk of being indoctrinated if you try to argue with her, particularly if you get involved with others in the congregation. If you argue strongly you will be condemned as "worldly" and one to be avoided

  I am not nor ever have been a JW, (my wife is) and I can sssure you that it is far from easy - you need to be sure of yourself.

  Do you have any thoughts of higher education? Be very aware of the JW attitude to higher ed (is your girlfriend planning on any serious non JW studies)

  Caution, my friend, is of the greatest importance and you should be well aware of the JW's and their traps.

  .....and the acting reminds me of Mc Hale's Navy......(Ernest Borgnine especially).

  The plots were more entertaining in McHale's though!

  I've been invited to one of the conventions and I am so glad that I didn't go. I have (under duress) gone to a few meetings & have found them to be so mind-blowingly boring that I detach from the meeting & think about anything else - like how much tme is left. 30 minutes is alomost beyond my endurance, but a couple of days!?!?!?!

  1) I am soooooooooooo glad that I have never had to watch this sort of tripe (I am an ubm)

  2) This should be widely distributed - it would discourage anyone with even a modicum of intelligence to run away - fast!

  3) It reinforces my view that the WTS is so introverted that it will hopefully dissappear up it own fundamental orifice.

  Amazing. Utterly utterly amazing. Even more amazing that anyone would happily watch this shit and think that they could learn anything of use from it

  Can't look due to content management but I can only imagine what it is about. There are some real monsters around and as you say, if it doesn't come from an authority figure, perhaps it will be a lesson better learnt. I also hope that your daughter appreciates who she has looking over her and how much she is loved.

  We have had a bad case here where an 18 yo was attacked in her home - remakably she lived but she lost all memory of her life before the attack to the point of having to learn to speak. Her rehab has taken over 2 years.

  What is frightening about this is that one doesn't have to be doing anything untoward to have one's life totally wrecked.
