Mary great work/info, To think I once droned on in morbid detail about how Jesus died on a stake. As the Romans were pagan it's pretty obvious a cross would have been used! Witchettygrub

PROOF JESUS DIED ON A CROSS
by Mary inwarning: some might find the descriptions here disturbing.
even though there is overwhelming evidence that jesus died on a cross and not an upright state, the organization still stubbornly clings to this feeble idea, siting of course, the ridiculous notion that, because the cross was a 'pagan symbol', jesus couldn't have died on it.
as if the romans gave a damn that the cross was pagan.

What happened 5 or 6 years ago to get so many of us out of JW?

Bingo Lady Lee! Your first line here 'The information explosion on the internet became more accissible to people. JWs were searching at home and at work gathering whatever information they could. And they were beginning to see the holes.' The following 3 points you made are relevant for myself also. Witchettygrub

Hi Bigmouth (Pete)
You asked if he was a JW? No he wasn't. He had separated from his wife Bev of 28 years 12 months ago and was currently living with his new partner who was with him over in WA when the accident happened.
It's very sad on top of Steve Irwin earlier this week.

Garybuss take a bow for your posts. I had a deep belly chuckle at the first one.
More serious was your second one and the words 'I've seen my wife load up our babies in the car and head off to a meeting in a Dakota blizzard'. It brings to my mind the articles that have been in the Watchtower/Awake where people have crossed snake infested areas, flooded rivers or walked many miles in the one day and such like to attend at the KH. Almost as though they were in a trance like state.

Yeah, what a beaut bloke.
He loved life, the animal world. There was a re-run last night on the 'Enough Rope' abc television show with host Andrew Denton of how Steve met his wife and how he, in that very moment, knew that she was the one for him. He had such a gutsy attitude and a cheeky face.
It's a sad day for us Aussies today. We feel his loss very much.

Sex before marriege? forbidden, nah :)
by pallemar ini just got told what sex before marries is okay, as long it is not sex with the same sex, with a animal, or with some one, very close to your famelie.

Pallemar, Apparently sexual intercourse makes people married. I read in Genesis 24:67 whereby Rebekeh entered Isaacs tent and 'he took her'. In today's world, especially the JW world, this marriage would be considered 'common law' and just not on. Witchettygrub

how many of you have armed themselves?
by buffalosrfree ini recently bought a high powered rifle and am presently buying a pistol for back-up.
i have a cross bow, a compound bow, and several swords and knives, in fact i have been collecting knives for some time and have learned how to use them in defending myself and in taking the initiative in learning to defend myself.
i am quite versed in using both the croww bow and the compound bow, it seems the goverment doesn't want to defend us and just wants to unarm us.

Hmmmm... I think I'll be going by Black Sheep's suggestion about the 'awesome, short range weapon' and keep a saw handy by the bedside. I'm heading over to Bunnings right now to get the latest. Oh, by the way I'm no granny. WG

'A Fish called Wanda' an oldie but hilarious as each scene is a classic.
Otto (Kevin Kline) steamrolled into the ground at end of movie by stuttery Ken (Michael Palin) in revenge.
Otto flattened - K-k-k-k-Ken.
Ken replies "You b...... Hey, I've lost my stutter. It's gone. I can speak. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"
and
Otto to Wendy his girlfriend - "Don't call me stupid"
Wendy in reply "Why not?"
This relationship can only be understood when movie viewed.
