During that study this previous Sunday, only two people in our "stiff
necked" congregation provided answers to the questions. The rest of the
congregation, being older, stubborn and protesting silently, refused to
raise their hands. The elder conducting the study from the platform
quickly skimmed through it. We did not consider that special article on pages 17, 18. Not everyone in the Organization is
swallowing this spoiled alphabet soup as easily as some of the others.
One of the circuit overseers years ago referred to our congregation as being a "stiff necked people" because they are so stubborn and slow to accept any change.
