Various remote bethelites around the globe
there has been many threads from various posters around the world about recent bethel layoffs.. so far i remember threads about:.
south africa.
united states.
Canada,
Brazil - This might have just been special pioneers.
Various remote bethelites around the globe
just heard from a reliable source that some at the canadian branch have received their lay-off notices under their doors at bethel.
don't know what the letter looks like.
probably something like, " the tribe has spoken, bring us your torches"
Dear minion,
GTFO.
Sincerely,
Jehovah.
is it just me, or does it seem like jw.org is returning to some very old methods from rutherford's era?.
- their carts / booths is very reminiscent of the sandwich board system, including the fact that they no longer personally engage.
- showing videos via the tablet / smartphone is almost exactly like the phonograph method they used.

- Showing videos at conventions makes the convention much more like when they only had one major convention, such as the Cedar Point Ohio amusement park convention that everybody had to travel to
Assuming this is true, and the current GB is trying to copy things that seemed to work way back when, I wonder what other changes are in store?
It already seems like they're working toward moving back to a MUCH smaller bethel family, perhaps even eventually closing all branches and working from Warwick alone at some point.
Do you think they'll go back to some other old school methods? For example, they could eliminate elder bodies again, and return to the "congregation servant" model that Rutherford instituted, because it's much easier to control one or two people instead of 6 or 8 or more per congregation. Just choose a "company man", such as the current COBE of an infamous US congregation famous for it's issue with apostasy in the 80's, who knows TTATT but stays loyal to the org anyway, who will do exactly what the org tells him to.
What do you think?
heard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.
apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.
what the sunday watchtard said.... in 1876, an article written by charles taze russell was published in the magazine bible examiner.
that article, gentile times: when do they end?, pointed to 1914 as a significant year.
the article linked the seven times of daniels prophecy with the appointed times of the nations spoken of by jesus.. what gentile times: when do they end?
words that motivate.
our communication has to pass through the mind of another human being and survive what his or her mind is going to do with it!.
wordsby themselveshave to motivate the listener in the same way a combination lock will open if the correct numbers are dialed in exactly the correct sequence.
why doesn't the wtbts just lie and increase the published amount of people who attend the memorial?
who would know the difference?
the same with the amount munching on the crackers and sipping the wine.
an entertainment for international convention delegates.
quite a lot of dancing going on!.

It's a marketing ploy.
Sure makes the preaching work out to be a whole lot more fun and interesting than it really is.
the branch manual reveals the following:.
chapter 3., par 62 data protection policy, section c: if a data subject request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data or sensitive personal data about himself, the organization will fairly consider granting the request by balancing the interests of the individual in gaining access or correcting or deleting data against the legitimate religious interests of the organization, including whether granting the request would endanger the organization's right to religious freedom and practice."d.
"the organization has an interest in permanently maintaining data regarding an individual's status as one of jehovah's witnesses.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they do not disclose the fact that intimate details about judicial matters are view-able by other elders who were not on your committee, by the C.O., and are sent to the branch to be read by other complete strangers. In addition, their IT staff has access to this data as well. None of these people are authorized by the individual to view their personal private details, and no contracts are ever signed implying that WT has the right to disclose this information to these people.
Could this be grounds for a class action lawsuit? Any joker with a tie or holding a broom can probably walk into one of those offices and come across details of your personal private matters lying on someones desk.
They also do not let you view these materials, nor will they delete them citing religious freedom.

recently i have fallen ill with a serious case of chickenpox (shingles).
three weeks down, high fevers, and the blisters attacked mostly my scalp and face, but then also my whole upper body.
i looked horrid, truly like a mutant monster out of a nuclear disaster.
I feel for you man. Whenever my wife tells me so-and-so said to say hi, or ask me how I am, I always respond "They have my phone number, don't they?"
To which she just laughs, and changes the subject.
These poor people simply do not have the capacity for compassion. Their brains have been washed clean of any substantial emotion.
Hang in there, glad you're feeling better.
