Reasons why i can't worship the God of the bible...

the following scriptures given show the reasons why i cannot worship the god of the bible.

call him jehovah, yahweh, yhwh, lord, father, jesus, whatever you will.

the passages are taken from the new world translation, because we are all familiar with it and also it was the only one i really had at hand.. gen 3:16 ... " to the woman he said: 'i shall greatly increase the pain of your pregnancy; in birth pangs you will bring forth children, and your craving will be for your husband, and he will dominate you.

Oh, I see, you are saying some women deserve to be raped as consequences for their actions. What actions would those be?

In the case of the first scripture, it was because of something her husband did, she was innocent.

In the case of the second scripture I quote: "This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles." (Zechariah 14:19 )

They didn't keep Yahweh's oh-so-precious holiday.

Oh well, consequences are consequences... He's only omnipotent, what do you expect him to do about it?

simply put...i believe there is a god..and his name is yhwh aka jehovah..and his son yeshua or yehoshua aka jesus..died for our sins as a propitiatory ransom sacrifice to antone for mankinds sins..i therefore am also a creationist...i do not believe science contradicts the bible...rather i think it agrees and compliments it rather well.. .

i am creating this post in response to comments made in my last post by the poster named "parakeet"... i just thought i should explain myself before he/she starts deducting praise from me (see my last post)..lol...alright here goes.

i grew in a small town in florida called macclenny..population- 20,000.. my mother and her family were raised in this quaint little city...my family on my mothers side has been in this city since the early 1920's...ok...lemme me get to the meat of the story.. .

-voices calling your name
-doors being marked upped and scratched
-spirits manifesting themselves as dogs, snakes, "devils, old women,
-people being choked
-covers being snatched off of people
-faces being caressed
-items moving and flying across the room
-items on the back porch being thrown about
-constant footsteps when nobody is there
-walls shaking
....and so on

So then what makes you think it's a demon? Correct me if I'm forgetting something, but according to the bible, demons never did any of those things, with the possible exception of appearing as a snake...

The behavior, (calling your name, moving things while invisible, touching people, choking them, breaking things, shaking the walls etc.) sounds more like a Siren , an Undying, or a Ghost than any Demon...

You should believe in Odin, The Occuria or Calypso... not Yahweh.

How can anyone see something 28,000 light years away, that's only 140 years old? The light would take 28,000 years to get here.

We're seeing it as it was 28,000 years ago... when it was only 140 years old.

It's like looking at a picture of an adult at age 3, yeah he's 50 years old now, but in the picture he's only 3 years old.

Wasn't this meant to compare God with human parents?

No, it was meant to show that just because you create a life, it doesn't give you the right to destroy or harm it. You said: "Since God is the giver of life, He is justified in taking that life. " A parent isn't allowed to kill a child simply based on the fact that the parent gave that child life. That's just wrong. And a god isn't allowed to kill a human simply based on the fact that he gave the human life. That's also wrong. Doctor Soong isn't allowed to kill Data simply because he gave Data life. This is equally wrong.

So because God created a living being it's okay for him to beat the hell out of it and kill it if he wants to ? Now that's a warm and fuzzy thought ! If humans are ever able to clone other humans I guess it will be okay to use them for target practice !

Forget clones, what are children but the creation of their parents? By this reasoning a parent is perfectly justified in torturing her child to death.

And evidently God is completely incapable of making sure his book got translated properly, and preventing himself from looking like an evil child mauler.

But this is completely incorrect... the hebrew words used here are: "Qatan" for "small" and "Na'ar" for "boys".

Qatan meens small, young and insignificant.

Na'ar meens Youth, Boy, Lad or Servant.

So when it says: "Small Boys" it actually means: "Small boys"

The ~~willfull deception~~ misunderstanding arises when they ignore the qualifier 'Qatan', and only look at the word 'Na'ar'. Na'ar can sometimes be used either way.
