I would look first. If I knew these witnesses (unlikely) I would not answer. If they were witnesses that I did not know, I would answer, and give them something to think about.

Do YOU answer the door now?
by christopherceo inwhen i left the org the elders would come by at the most inopportune time at least every day sometimes twice.
i never answered the door, i just continued doing whatever it was i was doing and ignored the pounding at the door knowing it ticked them off because they knew i was home.
when the witnesses randomly come to my door now i still don't answer but have thought about it just to give them hell.

Would the WTS have DF'd Michael Jackson?
by freedom96 ini know some are getting sick of hearing about michael jackson.
if he had not da'd himself, with all he has done in the last 15 years or so since that time, would the wts have df'd him?.
the charity work, the children being around, the cosmetic surgeries, the career, etc?

Gizmo,
Michael Jackson DA'd himself publicly right before the "Bad" c/d came out.
What is funny, is I remember many, many witnesses saying that the fact he da'd himself is the reason his "Bad" album did not do nearly as well as "Thriller." What they forget is that it is nearly impossible to equal a smash hit like "Thriller" no matter how good the new material is. Just does not happen in the music industry. The fact is that "Bad" sold many more than most artists do in a lifetime.

Ok, I Need to Yap Some More...
by cyrano inone thing that always confused me in the watchtower was the meaning of the covenant.
i have come to believe the reason for my confusion is that the watchtower is actually lost in this area (well duh!).
their false teaching of the covenant has led to a house of cards.

That makes my head hurt just trying to think about it all.

The worst it got for me was one time a lady had such a fuss about us being in her condo complex that she went out and took pictures of us going door to door, and of our car and license plate.
As much as I too wished I wasn't there, I thought she went a little overboard.

I know some are getting sick of hearing about Michael Jackson. Sorry.
But I couldn't help but wonder:
If he had not DA'd himself, with all he has done in the last 15 years or so since that time, would the WTS have DF'd him?
The charity work, the children being around, the cosmetic surgeries, the career, etc? Would they have tried to separate themselves from him if he were to claim he was still a devoted JW?

Have you forgotten what the WTS taught?
by freedom96 inwe remember things such as telling us how to dress, not celebrating holidays, paradise on earth etc.. but what about the deeper teachings?
especially those of you who now follow another religion.
there was so much garbage taught, especially in regards to revelation and things like that.

As we read in many posts, we sure remember some of the dumb stuff the WTS taught. We remember things such as telling us how to dress, not celebrating holidays, paradise on earth etc.
But what about the deeper teachings? Especially those of you who now follow another religion. Do you remember those teachings? There was so much garbage taught, especially in regards to Revelation and things like that. Different dates, the North and the South, basically anything taught in the Watchtower study on Sundays. I know the basics, but since I have not been going for years, much of the deep crap I have forgotten.
I have since gone to non-denominational churches, and I have a basic belief in Christianity, but as we all know, that is much different than what the WTS teaches. I laugh to myself thinking that I wonder if I were around one of my very few witness friends that are left, if I would be able to hold my own on the WTS teachings. Again, I know the basics, but what about the other stuff. I wonder if I would slip and mention something that I have learned since, and not realize that it is different from what the WTS says. Imagine the wierd looks I would get on that one! I just keep it safe and don't talk about religion at all.
Have any of you forgotten those deeper teachings?

What a bad world we would live in if.....
by JH in.
what a bad world we would live in, if everbody was a jw, and would shun you for taking blood, for missing meetings, for becoming inactive, for marrying a person not spiritual enough, and so on so forth.. luckily there is only 1/1000 worldwide.. how would you picture this world if everybody was a jw?.

Couldn't have any real friends, they might turn you in for some infraction of the rules. What a horrible thought, really.

What do you think ?
by obiwan in.
i know many like myself have had alot of different experiances and have met many different people since leaving the jw's.my question is do you think you knew or found people to be more intelligent in the organization or have you found people to be more stimulating and intelligent outside the organization, setting aside the fact that the people in the organization are apart of it?
i'm just curious as to peoples experiances.

Vanity Fair had an extensive article showing how all this was really blackmail anyways. The boys father wanted to get a movie financed, and he wanted Michael to front the money. When Michael denied him the wanted financing, then this whole charade started.
For those who are quick to accuse, I would strongly encourage you to read this article, then see how you feel.
I feel that just because he may be strange, doesn't mean that he is guilty of molestation. The fact is, that maybe he has a bigger heart than most of us even do. We may just not realize it.

Micheal Jackson: Are you in here? Do you visit??
by WingCommander ini often wonder if micheal jackson ever visits here.
i mean, he has unlimited money and resources, so why wouldn't he type in "jehovah" one day into a search engine, and find this forum??
i'm sure he has some of the same problems we all did, especially being raised a jw.

I am even more convinced than ever that he did not molest that kid in 93. Strange? Yes. Dangerous to kids. No.
