The WTS would sure make armegeddon very scary.
But, truth be told, I never spent much, if any time thinking about it. Too many other things to think about on a daily basis than that.
Never thought much about the "New Order" either.

As a young kid how did you invision Armagedon?
by PinTail inas a kid i felt that jehovah would bring his big hand down from the sky and slap the hell out of the ground, and if i was under it then it would be real bad.
the fact is i found it hard to camp outside and enjoy looking at the night sky with all of its stars, fearing the big old hand was going to slap the area around me at that very moment and ruin trees shrubs the fish we had caught our tent my dads truck, and us oh man everthing else too.

I grew up in Northern California, in an extremely strict hall. I left there when I was 18, and moved to another state. But I clearly remember what happened there.
The main elder there, had warned against other nearby congregations, that they might not make it through armegeddon. In fact, his own son was an elder in one of those "other" halls, and they were just in the next city over.
I think each congregation, regardless of where they are on a map, each have their personality.

betty and her family were our longtime associates while were in the cult of jehovah's witnesses.
enclosed were photographs of my wife, daughter, myself and my wife's sister.

Just when you think you have heard it all............ then this.
I can't imagine people such as this think they have God's blessing on being so cruel. By giving pictures back, as described, do they really think you will come back to the WTS?
I also love the Christmas card idea. However, to make it work, make sure the envelope does not show what is inside, as we want to make sure that they open the card each time. And inside, make sure you have happy pictures of yourself.
You will have to change it every year, and make sure your address is always different, as we don't want these cards and pictures going to waste now, do we?

2 year old daughter slips from mothers grip
by freedom96 inhere in southern california we have been just pummeled with rain.. here is the saddest story that i have heard here.. a lady is driving her vehicle with her 2 year old, and i think a 10 and 14 year old.
along comes a barrier, blocking people from driving through a flooded street.
she decides to go around the barrier, and gets stuck.

What about the other kids who need a mother, if she were in jail.
Like I mentioned above, involuntary manslaughter, probation.
For all we know, besides this bad error in judgement, she might be a good mother.
I think the fact her daughter slipped out of her hands, will torment her forever. I could not live in her shoes.

The bottom line is that the WTS religion is very self centered, and more focused on everyone obeying the WTS than anything else.
They would rather kick someone out, than to bring the family together.

well, this article says that when mr. williams said: "when they've finished their tennis careers, i don't want a couple of gum-chewing illiterates on my hands," he may have been foretelling prophecy since they are not pursuing college or anything else except endorsements at this point.. .
i am telling you ... everything i have read about them being witness just amazes me.

I don't think I have heard anyone actually say that they know for a certainty that these girls are active witnesses. Everything I have seen shows the opposite.
Which one was dressed in a flag? When was the last time they came knocking on anyones door?

Here in Southern California we have been just pummeled with rain.
Here is the saddest story that I have heard here.
A lady is driving her vehicle with her 2 year old, and I think a 10 and 14 year old. Along comes a barrier, blocking people from driving through a flooded street. She decides to go around the barrier, and gets stuck. They are in need of air rescue. The oldest kids are rescued, and then they come for the mother, and rescue her, while she holds onto the 2 year old. The baby slips from the moms grip, falls into the water, and is swept away, found 3 hours later, dead.
The police have actually handed this matter to homicide detectives.
What do you think? Has she suffered enough with the trauma of losing her daughter, or should she be faced with charges? She clearly was not looking in the best interests of her kids when going through the barrier.
I think perhaps involuntary manslaughter, with probation.
I have a 18 month old in the house, and I just cannot imagine doing anything that might even remotely harm him.

I still have a hard time with the fact that Prince is a witness in good standing. He still lives in a celebrity bubble, where life is not the reality that we all know it to be.
The congregations that I were in would never allow this guy to have any position within the congregation. No talks, etc. Not with the "worldly dress" that he has not changed. Perhaps he has cleaned up his lyrics, but how many meetings and service has he missed going out on tour and stuff?
Do you think they let him carry the microphones in the congregation he supposedly attends??
Do you think he is reaching out for responsiblity in the hall?
