  according to an italian news agency, the pope has just recieved the "last rites" at the vatican....... ......looks like the old boy is on his way out.......

  There have been disasters and wars since the beginning of time.

  Only now, we have the communication technology to find out about it immediately, and many times have video coverage.

  And, when you look at the population, and compare deaths, crime, etc, it is many times lower than what it used to be.

  Does anyone feel that their abilty 2 make money has been influenced by WT?

  we were told so many times that we were slaves 2 not only god but anyone in a secular position of authority.

  so i feel that this only encouraged a subordinate and non confortational attitude with our employers.

  almost 2 the point that that even those of us who are self employed never get 2 develope the killer instinct that is needed 2 compete in the business world.

  I always wanted to make money, and I would never have allowed the WTS to get in my way.

  Fortunately, now I don't have to hear anything about it.

  Though I did get a few odd looks when I pulled up at the meeting in a Porsche. Not exactly a vehicle intended for field service.

  What a scary, demented quote from the WTS. How could anyone read that and not be affected somehow?

  Oh, thats right. It was written over 50 years ago, and therefore doesn't mean squat today. Or does it?

  Friends of the opposite sex

  do you think its ok to have really close friends of the opposite sex if you are married or involved with someone?

  any one in that situation where your partner is jealous?

  I think it is possible to have close friends of the opposite sex, though hard not to keep feelings from going further.

  In the case of someone already being married, and having a very close opposite sex friend, that is much more difficult. Depending on the personalities of those involved, it may not be a good idea.

  how many of you bumped up your field service hours so you could keep the elders off your back?

  our congo had a 10 hour "soft" target for guys.

  however, if you didn't meet the 10 hours you got your "privledges" reduced or revoked.

  i have been wondering lately.. .

  for a while now i don't really hear from my witness friend and not that it bothers me much anymore, but i call her like once a month or so and she usually stays on the phone long enough to tell me how much she "misses me," for like 5 minutes (as opposed to the hours that she used to call me to talk for every night.

  It is sad how the WTS does very little to promote friendship.

  One thing we must remember, is that usually in the case of witnesses, they are so brainwashed with what the WTS teaches, it overrides how they really feel. I have no question about one friend of mine in particular, who I know loves me like his brother, but if I were to officially leave or be df'd, he would be compelled not to talk to me. Not that he doesn't care, but it is what the WTS teaches, and that comes first. If not out of loyalty, surely it is because of fear. I know he would have love for me just the same.

  The WTS is very powerful, especially due to the fact that they claim to be the only channel from you to God.
