i know it's not the lightest of topics but the current news coverage of the pope's final hours made me wonder if i'd face things as calmly as he is reported to be doing.
i don't have his faith, or any faith anymore, but i can see how for a true believer that would be a source of strength.. the thing is, a lot of us thought we'd never die.
do you really comprehend what a truly massive mind-fuck that is?
Of course I am not looking forward to dying.
I want so much to live long and old, and spend time with my family, and get to know my great-grand kids. I want to live to be at least 85, in good health.
I do believe in heaven, and though I will be nervous, I imagine it will be a great place.
okay, i know this is personal, but i kind of like the annoninimity of the board versus asking my friends who are all also friends with my husband.. my husband went out of the country with a group from work this weekend.
i was supposed to go but had to cancel due to other stuff.
it turned out only 4 ended up going, my husband, a guy, and two women.
I don't know your husband, and I certainly was not there in the hotel room, but either way, he should not have been in the same room at all alone overnight like that.
Just not cool, and has given you reason to worry. He should have been more thoughtful, and not put himself in that position.

Certainly, too much jealousy can hurt a relationship.
Get this:
I am out with my wife, and two other couples. One of the guys there is a good friend of mine. We were out at a really nice Sunday buffet, and time comes for seconds. I look at him, and said ready? Lets go get some more food. We had both finished at the same time. We go up, come back and join the group. His wife got SO jealous because he and I went to get more food instead of her.
Much more to the story, but anyways, they just broke up, so I think she is re-thinking the whole jealous act.
i was sitting here at work thinking what could i do to my other half this morning.
my brainstorming concluded that i should repent of my sins and make a request to get reinstated.
instead of calling her at home, i figured she was probably in front of her computer doing bills and such so i shot off an email.
I think that was great!
i've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.
They will have to find me first if they even want to consider me signing, or not signing anything, if that is what they are up to.
it's refreshing to know that we can say negative things about what we know is wrong about the society, governing body, local elders, the "brotherhood", in general------and not get censured or punished for it......i'll start.------- the organization is run more like the scribes and pharisees than jesus and his disciples.
christ reached out to everyone.
the scribes and pharisees treated everyone else like they were inferior, "worldly", not good enough.
They are out for the destruction of the family unit.
yes....people can be demonized, houses, and animals.
well, cuz you can tell by the physical features.
a person who's demonizes has a certain look according to the dubs.
I remember going out in service January 1st, and people would come to the door, with a hang over and glazed look to them, but then the witnesses would always swear that it was demons. I guess they never figured the householder might have been out partying the night before.
i'm sure the jw's will be dancing around the may pole tonight celebrating!!
honestly, mother therasa did more to help the needy and poor then the pope did any day.
i always found it funny how catholics worshipped the pope, and even seem to think he is christ on earth or something.
Msnbc has not reported his death yet, but I am sure it will be any time now.
Never paid much attention to him, but his death will be the talk for a week or two at least.
mostly i'd say unhappy ones!
i look back at my life, and say it was my unhappy mother, who infected my family.
it was perfect for her.
No doubt there are many factors that come into place when an adult looks at becoming a witness.
For some, it could be the resurrection promise for loved ones, but mostly, I think it is those that are missing something in their lives, though they cannot put their finger on it, and long for something to belong to.
When they get love bombed at the hall, in the beginning, they sometimes are hooked.
i'm watching people's court right now while i'm surfing the net.
and perked up when i heard the words "kingdom hall".
turns out the plaintiff, an elderly woman, is a jw and mentioned during her testimony that she was on the way to kingdom hall when her car started knocking and making noises.
That would have been too funny!
