That is not Celine Dion. It doesn't even sound like her. I doubt that is George Benson either; I could be wrong about him, but like I said, not Celine at all.

Do you remember giving talks?
by klydia ini'm trying to remember the process for giving a talk.
i remember getting a slip with a topic on it, but what else was on that slip?
did it tell you what scriptures you should cite, or what book the talk was based on?

I always waited to the last couple of hours before the meeting to do my talks.

I don't personally care what people do. On girls I do find earings and naval rings attractive. If a guy wants to have earings, I don't care.
That being said however, from an employment viewpoint, it will hinder your long term success, depending on your industry. Of course there are careers where personal appearance doesn't make much difference, but in a professional, white collar type of job, with hope for advancement, you better look the part. You have to appeal to the masses. Just the way it is.
I hire people in a professional setting, and if someone came to me applying for a job with lip rings, eyebrow rings, etc, I wouldn't hire them. If I really liked them, perhaps if they removed all of it while at work, but still makes me wonder where they are coming from. One must think about appealing to the masses, in this case.

Something happened at church yesterday
by lovelylil inso my hubby wanted to go to church yesterday.
it was a non-denominational one in the town next to ours.
i went along because he feels he needs a church to attend to keep him on the right track.

There are so many places to choose from, and you need to feel comfortable wherever you decide to go. Forget this place, and look until you are happy.
There are too many good ones out there to worry about a few that aren't.

anyone feeling a wee bit guilty about celebrating Thanksgiving and Xmas??
by Star Moore ini was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .
but i was thinking that it's not what someone made them in the past but what they are right now.. to us, at this moment.
am i going to sit down on thanksgiving.. and say, "i hate those indians, think i'll go kill some"..????

No, not feeling guilty. Still trying to feel the holiday spirit though. Went so long without it.

Where do JW's take their breaks today?
by moshe ini was at a buffet restaurant on saturday for lunch and noticed a boy around 10 years old at the ice cream sundae bar- he had a suit on- .
i was curious as to where jw's take their breaks today and what times they stop for one.
i am on paid leave from work and would like to look for more opportunities to talk to them..

When I was growing up, my book study groups never took breaks....I only wish they did. Other groups did, and I was always jealous of them.

Oh LOST, what has become of you?
by free2beme ini remember this series as being something i really enjoyed watching, always hoping they would answer a question or two and thinking it would be something that wraps up soon.
in ignorance i fell into the series of nothing really being covered, more questions being asked and game playing on each episode.
i want to still like this series, i really do, but i think i may take the course of many and wait until the next season comes out on dvd and watch it all at one time next summer.

One idea is to Tivo the show, and then you can skip all the commercials. Still love the show.....disappointed they are making us wait until Feb for more episodes.

Anyone Running for President Should have to Pass a Psychological Exam
by frankiespeakin insince the president of the usa has such a responsible position i think it should be manditory for anyone running for the office and that a profile be made public knowledge, if it involves some phobia, or serious insecurity that may make him prone to irrational actions because he can't grasp enough to make a rational decision.

Many slam President Bush for various issues. Regardless of that, he has become President of the United States, a position held by very few. That in itself is quite an accomplishment. If one thinks they can do better, go for it. Make a difference. Become President. Maybe the hard hitting reality comes, in that very few give a shit what any of us really think anyways. Or continue the Monday morning quarterbacking.
Before I get slammed, I am not condoninig or agreeing with everything President Bush does, it is simply an observation. At least he went out and tried.
