I wonder how many people actually would listen to what was being said in the prayer. I always was thinking about other things.

I cannot imagine what is going through your mind right now. I would be livid, as I pretty much am just reading your story. I would be going nuts.
Anyways, best wishes, go get them. Every one of them, and please keep us posted as the events occur.

POSSBILE TACTIC FOR ELDERS VISITS
by Mary inan "inactive" friend of mine (hasn't gone to the hall for about 11 years now) was visted by the elders on yep, you guessed it: christmas day.
they asked her the standard questions: do you still view yourself as a jw?
do you believe this is god's organization?

It is human nature to be scared when threatened. When you threaten an elder with a lawsuit, you are attacking him personally. He probably doesn't care what you do with the WTS, but when you mention him personally, that changes everything.
An elder doesn't want to be sued. Even if the suit is totally crazy, he will still have to get a lawyer, and defend it. It will cost him money, lots of it, and probably doesn't have it to spend. And do you think for a second that the WTS is going to back him up and pay his legal bills?? No way!
If you are in front of the lawyers, and can stand up to them, then I would not have any problem threatening them personally with a lawsuit. But know what you are talking about first. That means educating yourself on what laws you have to base this on. Don't go spouting off something untrue or unreasonable.
Be interesting to see what most of the elders reactions are if people try this. I do believe it is time for all who have left, to stand up for themselves, not to bow down to their supposed power.

I expect integrity and honesty. It doesn't always happen of course. I think people as a whole are very predictable.

Background of those leaving
by freedom96 inwho are the majority that are leaving?.
are they those who grew up as witnesses, and this generation realized that this is not the true religion and leave?.
or maybe a witness who had a position of power, such as an elder or ms, or maybe had some insight from bethel, and saw too much?.

Or maybe a witness who had a position of power, such as an elder or MS, or maybe had some insight from bethel, and saw too much?
Or, maybe the JW who got in because of 1975 and finally decided to leave, seeing that nothing ever happened?
Or is it witnesses who are just too tired to do all that is required of them in this religion?
Maybe it is because of freedom of knowledge such as the books and internet?
Any guesses?

Is the USA a bully?
by Robdar ini was watching the news last night.
the latest word from the war front is that we should be able to peaceably work out our differences with north korea.
as humiliating as it will be for us to kiss north korea's ass, we will do so because they do have the ability to nuke our west coast.

The idea behind attacking Saddam is to get to him BEFORE he gets his hands on nukes. One day I think we will want to thank those who made the decision to rid the world of Saddam and those like him. If we didn't, maybe we would not be around to enjoy our children or grandchildren, or other friends and family.

Are elders more spiritual
by JH in.

does the watchtower choose their leaders for their spirituality or their leadership?

They are picked from those who are the most loyal, and who kisses ass the most. Then they can be allowed into their little circle.

I would love to see the WTS publicly humiliated. Too bad it has to be this situation. The more the public as a whole understands the WTS policies, the better.
Maybe this will disgust some inside the WTS too.
