Yes Al Gore said it in 1988 when Phelps allowed some of his buildings to be used for free by the Al Gore Campaign. This was before his current God Hates Fags campaign.

by Rado Vleugel ini am sure this story is mentioned earlier (i don't have the time now to search this forum), but i have compiled an article about this case:
sixteen sexual abuse victims have settled nine lawsuits in which they said they were sexually abused as children by jehovahs witnesses members and leaders.. settlements were reached in late february and early march, according to court records obtained by bill bowen of silentlambs.org.

They are Calvinists with a little bit of 1930's-40's JW picketing mixed in. They are all great lawyers, I think twelve of the family members are lawyers. The use of fag is used to get attention and get them in the media. They spend about $250,000 a year on pickets across the country. The Westboro Baptist church is mainly two families that know how to market their message. Fred Phelps is a democrat that Al Gore called a great American that has represented minorities in court before any one else would. The theory is that Phelps do there thing to protect free speech and religion and will litigate to death anyone that gets in their way.
