Trader Joe’s Rumored To Be Taking Retail Space in Waterfront Building BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Said to be the largest residential conversion in Brooklyn’s history, the former Watchtower shipping complex at 360 Furman St. in Brooklyn Heights — now to be called One Brooklyn Bridge Park — has officially launched sales. Prices are starting at $500,000. A rumor that Trader Joe’s will be leasing some of the retail space in the building is unconfirmed. The former 14-story waterfront building is being converted into 449 residential units, obviously offering some of the best views of downtown Manhattan and New York Harbor, and is situated within the planned 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park, hence its new name. “As the largest residential conversion in Brooklyn’s history, One Brooklyn Bridge Park will transform Brooklyn living,” said Robert Levine, president of RAL Companies & Affiliates LLC, the project’s developer. “One Brooklyn will offer unprecedented waterfront living unlike anything else.” The homes, designed with a contemporary edge by CDA Architects, will include loft apartments ranging from 588-square-foot studios to 2,360-square-foot four bedroom; townhouses with two-to-five bedrooms, ranging in size from 1,704 square feet to 4,069 square feet, and three- and four-bedroom penthouses, ranging in size from 2,452 square feet to 4,638 square feet. When completed in late 2007, the building will offer such amenities as 24-hour doormen and porters, on-site attended parking, additional owner self-parking, private riverfront cabanas, a 3,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga/meditation room, children’s play rooms and art room, a game room, meeting room, media room and lounge, golf simulator, bicycle storage and a total of 7,000 square feet of landscaped gardens. “One Brooklyn Bridge Park will offer its residents exceptional living spaces, with open floor plans, soaring ceilings, and the highest quality materials,” said Highlyann Krasnow of The Developers Group, one of the firms handling sales. “The dramatic homes will also feature unsurpassed panoramic views in all directions from New York Harbor to Wall Street.” * * * Sales have officially begun for the luxury condominiums at One Brooklyn Bridge Park, the former Watchtower shipping complex at 360 Furman St. Some of the building’s street-level retail space on the park/waterfront side — rumored to be the future home of a Trader Joe’s store — can be seen at left, as well as the building’s future color — various shades of gray, according to the developers.
