I agree barbara. But I am glad you spoke about what you did. I don't really know you, but I respect you a lot. Your reputation is impeccable among ex jws and I can see why. You are a lady of great integrity. Peace to you and yours, Lilly

I came very close to it myself. My marriage was on the rocks because I wanted to leave the WT but my husband didn't. I had two young kids and no way to support them if my husband left. Even if he paid child support, for I didn't make much money at the time.
Spiritually I was almost shipwrecked. I felt alone, had no friends. My Catholic family had turned their back on me for the most part when I became a JW. And I knew soon I would be shunned by all the people who were now in my life and had been for 12 years.
Anyway, one day I decided to take a bottle of pills. The only thing that stopped me at the time was my kids were home and I didn't want THEM to find me. At that moment, an elders wife who lived literally across the street called. I forgot why, I think she wanted me to do something for her or the kh. But she said I didn't sound right and I told her I thought I was going to hurt myself because I was so depressed. This was my cry for help.
During our phone call, she got a beep, put me on hold and then came back and said she had to go because that call was important. Thats when I knew she called with her own agenda and had not listened to anything I had just told her. She never came over, or called me back.
I think that is the moment everything came to a head. All the doubts I had been having over the past year came bubbling to the surface all at once. I knew the Witnesses were not followers of Christ becuase there was NO LOVE among them. They may have seemed friendly or loving but it was not the AGAPE love the bible speaks about. I got down on my knees and prayed to Jesus at that moment. I don't really know why but it felt right. I have been born again since then.
My entire outlook literally changed overnight. I stood up to my husband, (he never left me), threw out my old WT books, stopped sending my kids to the kh, and started my new life in Christ.
When I think about it, I came very close to being one of the suicide stories we are reading about here. I'm glad I am not. I've had 7 years of freedom in Christ, and counting. And my entire family, including my husband is out of the WT.
I wish to God that those poor people who commit suicide could somehow look into the future and get a glimpse of how glorious their lives could be without the Tower, and then maybe they would not be a story on the thread either.

uzzah,
Thanks. I did defend Rick but never Johnnie. I never believed he was truthful.
The thing that really hurt was Rick is supposed to be a Christian, he pastors his own church and HE KNEW I hung up crying (from his church group) and never called to make sure I was ok. He purposely had the group confront me. He is more concerned with proving himself right and taking down the WT( which he will never do) then in being Christlike which is what christians are supposed to do.
How can he run a ministry to help ex jws to Christ, when he is spiritually lacking himself?

I think we all have a right to be skeptical and ask Q's. I didn't even confront Johnnie, I told him and the group I would be calling Rick because I caught Johnnie in several lies. I did call Rick the next day and he called me back but I was out.
When I said I was skeptical and johnnie tripped over his words the group came to his defense and said he "proved" himself to be true. I asked if they saw any hard evidence that Johnnie was a bethelite and then they started acting crazy. I lady said I was upsetting her and giving her diarreah, a lady named shiela got very rude, calling me a "grandstander" and loud. yeah, maybe I am loud when several people are attacking me. I told them I have the right to ask Q's. Apparently not unless you agree with the rest of the group?
The thing is the next day, I was willing to let it go. I think I even opologized to the group for getting them upset. NO ONE opologized to me. But then the next day, they decide to confront me at Ricks church. To me that was much worse then what happened on the six screens chat.

PC,
I think only a small part is on because he did it after the service but while I was still on the phone. The call was brief. Rick set me up by inviting shiela who attacked me to tell him how the call with Johnnie went. She starts saying that "some person" was rude and attacking to him so he did not stay on the line long. I told Rick she was talking about me and that it was a lie. Anyway, I told the group this is inapropriate (a word rick does not seem to know) and I was not rude to anyone. they started shouting at me so I shouted back to get a word in. When they persisted, I started to cry and hung up, I felt totally ganged up on.
Btw on that SAME Conference CALL Rick tries to get a young women to tell her story of being raped in the WT when she was a young girl. Barbara Anderson (my new HERO) came to this girls defense and told Rick it was not appropriate to have her talk about those things on the call. She was SPOT on!

Please do because then people will see how they attacked me. I never said anything rude or called johnnie any names but they insisted I did. The next day, Rick, who knew what happened the night before, has his group confront me in front of the entire house church he has and everyone on the church conference call. I was so upset because I felt this was inappropriate to do when we were supposed to be worshipping the Lord together that I started to cry and had to hang up.
I literally cried the entire day because I felt I offended people. I know I come on strong sometimes but I really do care for people's feelings. I would NEVER intentionally Hurt anyone. Unlike Rick Fearon and his group. If you do not agree with them, they feel you are against them. I only had good intentions and motives.
His posting this is in retaliation because Rick insisted he got an emailed id card from Johnnie and I told him anyone can make this type of card. I proved it today when my daughter and I made one and I posted it to this forum. I did it to prove a point, that you cannot be so trusting of people you do not know.
Anyway, I have spent two days worrying about this conference call. I told my husband I think Rick is a nice christian man deep down and I bet him that Rick would edit the call especially since he knew I was crying over it, but I was wrong obviously. Peace, Lilly

Rick and his goup did not like the fact that I questioned Johnnie and told him he was lying. We got into a screaming match on the conference call in the early morning. Then the next day, I attended Ricks house church via phone and he SET ME UP to be attacked again by his cult following on the six screens.
That was the most spiritually abusive thing that ever happened to me, and I was in the WT for 12 years!!

Rick,
You are a sensationalist! Too bad you didn't call today, my husband was waiting with a few words for you about how you threw me under the bus with your crazies from six screens. He didn't appreciate how his wife was attacked during a church conference call and spent the day crying.
Funny thing is, my husband actually thought you would edit the call because that would be the christian thing to do, but I guess he was wrong.
I hope everyone listens so they can see how crazy joe, shiela and diarreah Mary attacked me like dogs because I told Johnny "the bethelite" that I was skeptical about him and caught him in lies. The ONE true chistian on the call came to my defense. If they listen they will see how I told the group you were a friend and I didn't want you taken advantage of. My motives were to be kind to you and your poor wife, not wanting you to be misled because your hatred for the WT is blinding you. Also, I scolded your little cult for not checking into things and told them that is how they got involved with the WT, for being gullable.
** My 18 year old daughter sent Rick an email scolding him and the six screens. By the way I will not have anything to do with the conference call anymore because the spirit of it is not christ like in any way. The spirit of it is exactly like the WT.
Hope you got to see my thread about how I work with Johnnie. I am sure my id is better then the one johnnie emailed to you, which I never got to see even though I asked you.
Rick I fiercley defended you to publishing cult but I owe him an opology. You deserve ALL the criticism you get.

To the Houshold of God, Israel... and those who go with...
by AGuest inmay you all have peace!.
for the first time in close to 15 years, i have not been compelled by our lord to issue an "invitation" on this board regarding the upcoming wtbts "memorial" event.
for many years, i have posted exhortations and reminders as to what our lord said about those "in union" with him and what it takes to be in such union.
