"Adam" also means mankind collectively. I believe that rather than a literal name of one man, the bible writer was conveying the fact that "adam" or the human race was created.
Also Adam could have represented the male race and then eve the women, as she is the "mother of all mankind".

This seems like a domestic terrorist attack to me, maybe young person/people? The reason I say this is the bombs were said to be not too sophisticated and kind of crude. Otherwise authorities said more would have been killed.
I agree that this seems like someone with a personal ax to grind. If this is true, then authorities have a good chance of catching the culprit because they will definately brag about this.

This really sucks!!
Several of my coworkers ran today and they set up a tent at finish line. Most are nurses, no word yet if any of them were injured.
There had been worries about something like this happening during the Marathon for years in boston. First responders did an excellent job and I am sure shutting down cell service immediatley probably saved more lives. Boston was ready they do drills all the time since 911 as I am sure other cities are doing as well. It does help to be prepared.
There was another bomb found under a bridge I heard that was not detonated. Anyone in the boston area hear this?

what if you were informed that you are disfellowshipped and you flashed a huge smile and said, "nah.".
I still talk to active JWs, most are dumbfounded when I say "hi how are you", "long time no see", they usually say a polite hello and make a bee line to the exit door of the local supermarket. But most put THEIR heads down and walk away without talking. Since I did NOTHING wrong, I refuse to be shunned. I just no longer want to be a JW and they forced ME to write a letter about it, or they would keep dropping by.
In a way the "punishment" is on their own active JWs, because wheras they cannot speak to certain people, I can speak to whomever I choose to.
I don't believe wanting to leave a religion merits shunning, it is not a sin. I would like to be shown where a bible says its a sin to leave a religious organization? If that were true all the Apostles would need to be Df'd as they left the old ways of the law and entered into Christ. Thus they left their religion behind.

I have noticed that trend up here in Boston too. I see a lot of jobs with relatively low pay like $11 - $13 an hour which you could NOT live on in Boston area, and they want a Bachelors degree as a requirement.
Its really ridiculous. But I am glad I got educated prior to becoming a JW. Had a BA in Business Finance.
Sometimes it does help to have a degree, it depends on the company. I am a Hospice & Palliative Care Nurse Assistant and you do not need a degree for this job. But It did help me start way above the payscale that a NA without a degree would have gotten. Also I enjoy other perks like training other aides in our dept. and get extra pay for that.
my wife got me started watching this show last year.
we've downloaded the previous seasons on netflix and have found it to be really well done.
the story line, scenery,costumes,old cars and compelling characters have us hooked.
Yes the actor who played Mathew did not want to renew his contract. The writers felt they had no choice but to kill him off. There was no other honorable way, or so they say.
Can't wait for season 4..............too bad we have to wait almost a year!

Its no wonder that so many JWs are emotionally and spiritually immature. I mean they cannot decide on ONE aspect of their OWN lives themselves. And the advice................its simply hideous and does not fit into what is going on in the real world. kudos for anyone who can sit through that without throwing up in their mouths.

The keep your eyes forward on the speaker reminds me of those old movies when someone tries to hypnotize another person and they say "look into my eyes"...........LOL its a purely brainwashing tactic.

Besides joining a cult, here are my other 2 unusual things;
Saw a UFO, yes an unidentified flying object. Back in the late 1970s in NY. No kidding, about 6 people including my mother were witnesses. Someone actually called the military to see if they were doing experiments. Never found out what it was.
2nd, saved someone's life. My son Joseph when he was 10. Had an allergic reaction to medication, stopped breathing, I did CPR and he is 18 now and very healthy. I never thought it was a big deal since I am a health care worker but people tell me not many people can say they saved a life, unless they are doctors, which I am not.
Besides these things, my life is pretty mundane but at least I am cult free!
