  Why did you feel the need to use 3 posts of your mere 8 to put down the work of a young budding artist?

  She has already had her work critiqued and has been published in a childrens book, a newspaper and her work hangs in our local town hall, HER work being picked by an art critic from Boston out of hundreds of applicants.

  You have your own opinion, that is fine but YOUR opinion is exactly that, YOURS. You give your opinion as if that is the final word on the matter but its not.

  You say you are in the art world. but again I ask you , are you a published artist? Do you paint or draw yourself? If you are merely a critic that is fine but critics are a dime a dozen where I come from.

  My daughter is going to Art school in spring 2012 here in Boston. That is your opinion about her work, for an 18 year old she is very good. Tops in her class. Calling a kid's work rubbish is ridiculous. You are not doing her any favors, WE don't know you, so WHY do you feel you need to help US?

  I was simply putting up some of her work to brag as a mother. Art is subjective, it may not be to your tastes. My mother was a published painter, and many did not like her work.

  But when "reviewing" a young kids work, you should be a little nicer. NOT that anyone ASKED for your review or opinions anyway.

  Edited to add: the first two are examples of "pop art". Are you an expert in this area?

  That was very rude! My daughter is in high school, graduating in June. She has had her work published and her art hangs in the Town Hall in my town and the local Teen Center. Her art was also in a local CT paper, so I disagree with you.

  Do you draw or paint? I would like to see some of the work you did while still in high school?

  You also said;

  You've got the begining, the basics, but you've got a long way to go to the top.

  Are you an art teacher? An art critic? I didn't put my daughter's work up her for review you know. I think you have no manners whatsover.

  Just a nice dinner here with my little family of 4. No eggs for us, my kids are too old, 16 & 18. But its wonderful weather for Boston above 60, and we have windows open enjoying the warm air for a change.

  Of All of The Automobils You Have Ever Owned Which One Was Your Favorite?

  they say the average person will own about 25 cars in their life time.. from 1982 to 1988 i owned a 1971 dodge challenger convertible.

  it had a 340 with a 4 speed stick.

  i loved that car.. i didnt cry when my wife left me....i did cry when that car drove out of my life!.

  I love mini coopers too. I just bought my new car but am already saving for the next one. LOL. I don't want a car payment on the next one, will pay cash, that is why I am saving NOW.

  I have this pic hanging near my desk also this one;

  as reminders of what my car savings account is really for. One of these will be my 50th birthday present to MYSELF. But maybe I can get hubby to chip in, he is the one who makes the big $$$ LOL

  My daughter LOVES skull art. I am so glad we got out of the Watchtower when she was 11, she is 18 now. I remember once cutting our service short so I could drop her off for art classes and the elders talked to my husand about it. My hubby was going to tell our daughter to quit the classes and he and I got into a HUGE screaming fight over it. I told him over my DEAD BODY!

  That is when Ray was a little closed minded. Now he is open to more things. I paid for art classes for our daughter out of my house money when I was not working, and made sure you always had plenty of art supplies in the house. The "friends" used to tell me it was a waste of time, but I persisted in supporting my daugher. I even let her draw at meetings, and we got "talked" to about that too.

  It was worth the fight though. I am glad I stuck to MY guns. Peace, Lilly

  Sab-

  She uses photoshop and illustrator at school right now. We are working on getting her copies somehow, brand new these progarms are like $500 a piece for the older versions and more for the newer. She is graduating H.S. in June, maybe we could buy 1 for her, but not two, it would be more than a grand for the both.
