  hi everyone.

  as a parting gift to you all before i take a much needed break from this forum, i thought you would be pleased to know that the independent, a leading uk newspaper, will be publishing a piece on the "mentally diseased" watchtower article in tomorrow's edition.. i would like to thank everybody who has assisted the journalist, jerome taylor, in his investigation.. best wishes to all of you,.

  I just tried to add a comment that included WT quotes but I got a message that said I had to wait to see if my comment was approved for posting. Maybe because I commented more than once, I am being flagged for spam?

  IF so, would someone else copy over the WT quotes, someone that has not commented already?

  I am going to wait first to see if they approve my comments today. If not, could I have a volunteer to post it?

  Overlapping generation segment on the new Circuit Assembly program

  so there i was at the circuit assembly sunday morning with my eyes glazed over as usual when all of a sudden, bam!

  a demo with two brothers talking about the new overlapping generation teaching.

  the reason it took me by surprise was because it occured during the second talk of the sunday morning symposium, "sanctify god's name by your speech".

  This is too funny. I can see another mass exodus coming soon just like the one in the 90's, right after the first generation change. I knew many that left the tower within that year, citing the generation change for the major reason.

  If this is being addressed again, no doubt it is still a hot button topic with the jdubs.

  Anne raised a good point about the husband enabling the wife.

  I found in the kh's I was in that people did not want to talk about the mentally ill members of their family. They just learned to deal with it and didn't want to appear spiritually weak. That is why the WT culture is so dangerous. They teach that the ill person is not praying enough, not waiting on jehovah enough, not studying enough, etc. When really their mental illness has NOTHING to do with any of that. They need real help, not the kind the elders give by quoting WT articles. But real mental help, medication and stress reduction.

  I think the rate of mental illness in the JW's is much higher than other religions because the culture they are taught shuns getting help from outsiders.

  They got what they deserved in my opinion. NO ONE gets a 40% return on their money. The stock market has never yielded returns like that. I think they were all pure greedy and saw the $$$$ and the greed blinded their judgement.

  I agree skeeter,

  Someone was going to die that night. If the police were not called, the lady was hell bent on shooting her husband's son. This is a classic example of suicide by cop, the husband is not to blame. His wife had a death wish.
