Survey and question for those that follow my JC hearing tapes
by SickofLies inmy last appeal hearing is tonight.
i plan on continuing the good christian with a few questions act.
after they reach their decision whatever it is i will pull out my camera and tell them that this whole procedure has been recorded.. 1. do you think i will get df'ed tonight?

I just wanted to add one more thing. Just looking at the scripture they twist to disfellowship people (by the way you can point out there is no such term in the bible), they can only justify not associating with you as a friend or acquaintance. They have no basis for having anyone not say hello to you in the kingdom hall or anywhere else. Or in total shunning of a person. Also this advice is given to individuals, not an organization. So it is up to the individuals in the congregation to follow. No where does it say, if you do not do this, you will have reprecussions. Also, these are the ONLY grounds even for not associating with someone who is a brother and sins:
1 Corintihians 5:11 But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
By saying "do not even eat" Paul is clearly showing this applies to social situations only, no christian meetings. Hope these verses help. I will be praying for you at that very moment. Lilly

Yes. When I was about 16, a lesbian who lived next door to me asked me out. I just said, thanks but I don't swing that way.
Then, when I was in my 20's, right before I met my hubby, my best girlfriend and I decided to have a sleep over at her house. Because her husband was away on business. Anyway, after a couple of drinky-poos, she brought up the topic of same sex partners. She then told me she always wondered if I would be interested in her that way, because she found me very attractive. And if she was to experiment, she would want to do it with me. Needless to say, the sleepover ended as I just remembered I had other plans after all.
It didn't end our friendship though because niether of us ever brought it up again. Aah, the things people say when they had a little too much wine...............our friendship lasted a long time after but then I moved away. My hubby and I have good laughs about this now and then. And YES of course I told him!

I agree Jesus is something superior to Angels. And still believe he is divine by nature which means something different than some believe. I think this is what John was saying in John 1:1 But, I have trouble saying it means "a god" only because the bible says there is one true God so all others must be false, no? So, are we saying Jesus is a false God? Or a lesser God? Maybe Jehovah willingly shares his Divinity with the Son and that is why Jesus is the only begotten? Could this be the difference in Jesus and all others who are created?
Anyway, you both raise some very good points to ponder.

Do the Original books of the Bible still exist?
by Gill ini was talking about a born again neighbour of ours on my topic on 'is j k rowling a witch?
' today.. one thing, during our discussion that she brought out was that she had actually seen first hand the original books of the bible.
i told her that the whole, unconditional, originally written scrolls books as first put down, 'pen to paper' as it was no longer existed.. she said she had seen them herself in israel and hence 'knew for certain that these bible books are from god!'.

No books, only scrolls. Don't know what she is talking about. And there is very little original scrolls at all. Most are copies.

Thanks, I will be listening. It is funny because I have been working on that same topic now for about six months. A friend who is also an ex-witness raised the question of whether Christ was raised in his body or as an invisible spirit. This is because I do not believe that Christ arrived invisibly. Anyway, I am just about finished and I lay out ALL the arguements the JWs and some other groups use along with scriptures to prove that Christ did not receive a bodily resurrection. I then use other scripture to refute it. Now, mind you this is my view as I see the scriptures and I welcome anyone with a difference of opinion. It is several pages long so I do not want to post it all here. But, if anyone would like a copy, they could send me a pm with their email address or email me [email protected] Or, for those who do not want me to have that type of contact information, let me know if I should post the whole paper on the forum for discussion. Maybe we can take a few points at a time?

What kind of safety precautions do dubs take for field service?
by Check_Your_Premises indo they provide guidelines about safely entering homes?.
if a jw enters a home for the first time, what kind of safety precautions are taken by the car group to ensure the safety of the jw?.
for instance i was shocked to find out my jw wife wasn't instructed by the elders as to which homes belonged to registered sex offenders.
