There were hundreds of other writings not included in our official canon of scripture. A lot of them were lost due to antiquity. Be careful about books claiming to be lost books, they are usually forged. I do have the book of Jashar and I find it very interesting but do not believe it was an inspired writing.

PROTESTS AT WATCHTOWER CONVENTIONS

please contact me if you can attend any of these protests.. there is no reason why every district convention in the world could not have a protest and receive media coverage to expose the watchtower society.

Those of us who choose not to protest are certainly not Cowards. We made this decidsion for varying reasons including; 1) we are indifferent to the WT now that we are out 2) We choose to move ahead with our lives instead of living in the past, constantly reminding ourselves of our JW past 3) we know by protesting we are reinforcing the view that JW's have that they are being persecuted because they have the only truth, or maybe even 4)all of the above!
Rick, really there are 7 millions JWs worldwide, the organization is BIG $$ and they don't care about protests. However, I respect your right to protest if you feel it is cathargic for you emotionally to do so, but PLEASE respect others rights to NOT PROTEST and stop calling us cowards or telling us we are afraid of the WT. This is simply not true and will NEVER be true, no matter how many times you keep saying it. Peace, Lilly

You are right, there is nothing wrong with a good trade school education. Electricians, plumbers and mechanics for instance can make big $$$ The WT is against anyone educating themselves in any way. They want all your time and $$$ so they make wanting to better yourself something evil.

Is that true? How the heck can anyone live on a 2 day a week job?? Especially in this economy. I can see the poor jw smuck telling Mr or Mrs Boss I need to cut back my days and the boss giving them their walking papers fast!

Great find and so true. My hubby and I knew many families struggling financially, some never bought homes of their own and could not afford to retire EVER because they followed the societies advice about education.
Since leaving the WT my hubby went to college and got his degree. As soon as he got it, his company increased his pay by 7%! I also went back to work full time in the medical field and left my lower paying job for a newer one. One that I could not of had if still a Witness because of the traveling and hours I work, however I doubled my income in a year!
Hubby and I would be in the top income bracket of that chart as he makes more than the $75,000 target himself.
We definately would not have the Life we have now if we stayed Jehovah's Witnesses! Peace, Lilly

That is really sad. The CO's just don't care about the flock, their job is to increase numbers on paper, not upbuild people in the faith. When Jesus said people will be wolves in "sheeps clothing" he was talking about the WT leaders for sure. They claim to be the only sheep of Christ and yet they fleece the flock and throw them out of the pen!
In my 9 page DA letter, I addressed the fact that ALL members are treated the same and held up to the same requirements no matter their circumstances. This is NOT biblical since not all are preacher, teachers, envangelizers, etc. Also how can you hold a child to the same standards as an adult? And how can an elderly person put in the same effort as a youngster? The arrangment is NOT loving in any way.
Ken is the same as a decade ago when he beat up our kh in Hingham MA, a congregation of many elderly and sick members. We had many disabled both physically and mentally and he pounded the podium too and said we could ONLY miss a meeting if we are DEAD! This guy is such a pompous Jerk. He is a WT corporate man and NOT a follower of Christ.
These are the types of people leading the congregation and its no wonder there are so many problems in the organization. Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention, peace to you , Lilly

No not stupid, but they know the congregation is spiritually asleep............lulled into that state by the Watchtower itself. If the WT can keep its members asleep they can print whatever crap they want to without any objections!

I had a friend when I was a kid that like eating elmers glue. As a matter of fact it is pretty common for kids to eat glue of some sort, even crayons too. Don't ask me why, but this is true (used to work in a daycare).

I listened to the talk too, it made my skin crawl, could not wait until it was over.
Doesn't any of the Witnesses still in wonder why the term "governing body" is not found anywhere in the bible? I used to wonder a lot about this. I can honestly say not everyone in our kh worshipped the FDS like some did. We found those that did to be immature christians needing to be fed spiritual milk.
Our kh lost over 40 members in a few years span. So many left the Hingham MA congregation (including entire families) that they were merged with another kh. The same is true with Quincy MA (now closed) and Rockland MA (building sold a few years ago). Lots of these ones who left still keep in contact with me. They also saw the reigns tightening so severe that no personal choice was being left for the members. I call them "conscientious objectors", they objected to the FDS having the control over the flock the way it does now.
Actually we have all been out more than 7 years now, and the control is getting worse!
