My husband and his mother invited me to their Memorial and I asked my hubby that he should come with me to Easter Sunday Mass. He told me that he couldn't go b/c he took an OATH. I said that all he had to do was sit there and listen...no harm in that! He said nothing and that was it. I kindly joined them for the Memorial...sat there and actually listened, stood up, out of respect, during their badly sung opening song, read along with the Bible during the lecture, and stood up again at the end. Endured minutes of love bombing from the members!!! Yes...I did!
Come Easter Sunday, my husband DID NOT, I repeat, DID NOT, come with me and my family to Mass. I was hurt and upset. He stayed home alone and slept. He didn't even mention it or even asked how it went once we got back. Easter Mass was great and a lot more interesting than the Memorial. He would've liked it. I didn't mention anything else to him in regards to this, but I will...don't you worry! It's just not fair...all I know is that next time I get invited to any of their functions, I WILL NOT GO!!! Period.

Haha..the first thing that pops into my mind is:
THAT FIRST SCENE FROM THE MOVIE, "FRIDAY" WHEN CRAIG "Ice Cube" OPENS THE DOOR TO TWO JW LADIES ASKING HIM IF HE'S READY FOR JEHOVAH'S RETURN...HE SAYS NOTHING AND SLAMS THE DOOR IN THEIR FACES...THEY THEN TURN AND SAY, "WELL, F*** YOU,..."
LOL...LOL...LOL...
Another thing I think about is:
MY HUSBANDS WHOLE FAMILY...() AND LITTLE OL' ME STUCK IN THE MIDDLE ()

I've just recently began to be around them. My mother-in-law for instance is very judgemental. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that she's JW, but she really is!!! My mother-in-law didn't come to our wedding (at the Justice of the Peace), b/c she had witnessing to do at the time. Her son was very hurt by this. I found this to be wrong. I think it was solely based on the fact that she was NOT happy that her son was marrying a Catholic, and failed to even see me as a person. As time went on, she constantly drilled me, asked me questions as if to see if I was a "good" person. She offended me on many occasions and the more she questioned me, the more she realized that I was not as bad as she thought I was. In fact, I may have changed her view of Catholics. She is hypocritical of people. She would meet someone and judge them, if she found out that person is JW, her whole attitude toward them changed and the love bombing began. She thought that since I was Catholic, I was not worthy and that only JW women were good enough and holy enough for her son. I have through my actions and my way of being that I may be better than some of the JW sisters she knows. In fact, I'm better than she is b/c I never judged her for being JW, I see her as a woman and respect her for being my mother-in-law. I have NEVER offended her to her face or disrespected her in any way...She's a very helpful person and is underneath it all very nice. She's been there for me and we have great times together. I wanted her to see me for me. I also wanted her true self to come out and not what the WTS taught her to be.
She has open her mind up a bit since she's met me...this is what my husband tells me. I'm glad that I've made a difference in her b/c every bit helps...and not b/c I'm of a different religion, b/c that has NOTHING to do with it. Unlike her, I don't discriminate anyone based on their religious beliefs b/c I don't expect that to be done to me (Golden Rule).

As for claiming certain things are pagan for example Birthdays e.t.c this is wrong. They reason that since Birthdays in the bible are not good ones then its wrong and also how its worshippin the indivdual by celebrating their birth and of course 'pagan' links.
Yeah...my husband told me about the Biblical story reasoning for the Birthdays...which to me was ridiculous and I figured that whatever happened so long ago, has NOTHING to do with now. I just don't see the HARM in celebrating someone's birth (you are not worshipping them, but simply celebrating the fact that they were born and are still living = happiness!)..it's such an important day (in my p.o.v. and many others).
JWs are the only ones that do this, right?
BTW,HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE EX-JWs...May you happily celebrate all the birthdays you missed and all those to come!!! DON'T WORRY, IT'S OK!!!!!

LOL....
Passage Matthew 24:14: 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
And who was the genius who said this means that people have to go "door to door" putting their lives in danger to preach...Isn't that what a church is for? People go to church to hear the word of the Lord, if they'd like.
(Cause, seriously, weren't you guys afraid of knocking on a door and finding yourselves in a dangerous position...it's far too dangerous this day in age! There are a lot of loonies out there...I grew up in NYC and there's no way I'd EVER go door to door for any reason...especially to preach to them about God. God will find a way to get through to people and people will seek Him when they are ready to.)

Forgive me all, but I'm trying to understand things about the JWs. PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!
Why do they have to go door to door?
Why are they so
manipulatedbrainwashed by the WTS?Why do they consider other faiths pagan or bad?
Who decided that birthdays are pagan celebrations and are thus BAD? What does one have to do with the other? I've never, in my 28 years of existance ever heard of birthdays being related to religion or God...only JWs do this.
Where in the Bible does it say that displaying flags is so BAD? Again, what does one thing have to do with the other?
Why do JWs take the Bible so literally for some things and then symbolically when it's convenient to them?
OK...that's cool for now...I have more, but I'll ask later!!!
( see I've asked my husband, but we just get into huge arguments and I don't like arguing...)

That they feel superior to other people.
Yeah...I've felt that from them. Why is that? The swear up and down that they are so much better than anyone else and any other religion. It makes me so angry. They KNOW IT ALL, HAVE AN ANSWER TO EVERYTHING, TRY TO GIVE PROOF BY QUOTING VERSES FROM "THEIR" BIBLE (even when things have nothing to do with religion/God/Bible), AND CONTRADICTING OTHERS. I've experienced it all with my "new family"...
I must be honest, though...I'VE NEVER OPENED MY DOOR TO A JW. I even had a sticker on my door that reads, "We're Catholic and very happy, THANK YOU" (Now, I'm married to one, go figure...bf never told me his family was) My sister once did and it was b/c she was deceived. The JW lady told her that she will see our deceased Grandpa again in "Paradise" and very soon! My sister was still vulvenarable and fell for it. Not very nice...since they then tell their followers that only 144,000 will be living in this Paradise...

OMG, OMG!! PERFECT TOPIC QUESTION:
Last night, leaving the Memorial, we saw a brand new MERCEDES sedan with luxury plates that read, PAID
(First thought that came to my head was the comment my Mother-in-law once made about the Catholic priest that took the church's money and bought himself a brand Mercedes. She told me this so that I can see how corrupt my church is...oh well, I can see that her's is not too far behind)
