FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS....OldFlame
(dediced on going a different route and write it in Spanish)...
it's pretty sad when your family and friends don't even remember your birthday.
and for an ol guy who has been on this board since 2001 and no one here remembered either.
oh well maybe somethings are better forgotten.
FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS....OldFlame
(dediced on going a different route and write it in Spanish)...
so i'm 40 today.
wow.... not only have i never celebrated my birthday, but my "date-of-birth" (april 20th) has always coincided with that of adolph hitler's and, more recently, the 1999 columbine student massacre.
furthermore my daughter has just informed me that today (4/20) is also inernational marijuana day, apparently to coincide with the term "four twenty," which stands for pot.. anyway, although age 40 has traditionally been one of the major mile-markers in peoples' lives, i feel great!
Happy Birthday....and many, many more!!!
Go ahead and celebrate...IT'S YOUR DAY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNIQUE1
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....
DID YOU MAKE A WISH AND BLOW OUT THE CANDLES....
(OHHHH, THE WISH CAME TRUE, YOU'RE DF'D)
having been out of the org for a while now i have come to realise that when you think about certain viewpoints/activities of jw`s, it can really make you annoyed/upset/angry/laugh etc etc.
one thing that is pissing me off right now and has done for a while, is their attitude towards 'the worlds selfish pursuits'.
how often did you hear that those who seek an education to get a good job are 'seeking glory for themselves' and are doing the wrong thing.
AHA!! I knew the WTS was behind this.
My husband and his sister didn't go to college (both JWs)- Not that they didn't have the grades or the money, but according to their parents because they simply "didn't want to". Oh, whatever!! Now I know why! See, I knew the organization had something to do with this because it seemed kind of strange to me. My husband would've made an excellent lawyer, in my opinion, but never even took the SATs...not an option. I have reason to believe that his mother deliberatly asked them NOT to apply for college or even worry about it. This is so wrong!!! I've told them how at my house, not going to college was not an option...my mother made sure I went. She wanted the best for me. Mind you, we didn't have the money, but we managed. My M-i-L just remained silent when I asked her why she didn't encourage her son and daughter to go to college. Neither of them have 'careers' but have resolved to remedial jobs. I knew there was something strange all along.
Wow, what an eye-opener! It's sad how some JW young adults are denied these opportunities..."i'm annoyed too!"
a friend invited me and my family to roman catholic easter mass & egg hunt.
while ive been to a roman catholic church after casually leaving the jws, it was my first time attending after being truly out.
i was hedonistic and even took communion.
Hey, hey...Easy on the Catholics...
Cause at least we don't get shunned, we don't get "calls" and we don't get disfellowshipped...
All in all, after seeing a lot of what goes on in JW lives, IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN, I'D BE CATHOLIC ALL OVER AGAIN.
OH, AND WE DON'T WORSHIP MARY, WE VENERATE HER = RESPECT HER FOR BEING THE MOTHER OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. SOME RELIGIONS DON'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT!!!
OK, I'M JUST TRYING TO DEFEND MY RELIGION...BUT YOU KNOW WHAT...I AM FULLY AWARE OF ALL OUR FAULTS TOO AND ALL THE STUFF THAT GOES ON. WE RECOGNIZE THAT WE ARE NOT PERFECT...UNLIKE THE JWS (they swear up and down that they are perfect and righteous)
even if all else looks bad, due to the fact that jw's preach the goodnews of the kingdom in harmony with matt 28, doesn't this make them the true religion since technically no other religion can make this claim?
THE CATHOLICS!!! haha, just kidding
Certainly NOT the JWs...I just cannot accept that...no matter how hard I try! Every religion thinks they are the TRUTH. It's just their opinion! Only GOD knows the TRUTH. No religious organization should claim this...all of us read the Bible and interpret it the way we want.
THE WORLD WILL NEVER KNOW!!!!
.
my husband and his mother invited me to their memorial and i asked my hubby that he should come with me to easter sunday mass.
he told me that he couldn't go b/c he took an oath.. come easter sunday, my husband did not, i repeat, did not, come with me and my family to mass.their functions, i will not go!!
Thank you all for all your kind comments.
I'm learning now how manipulated and controlled the JWs are. It's so sad. It is true b/c I can see it in my MIL. She would rather die than miss a meeting...what the f*** is that about? How much do these people fear getting in "trouble" with the Organization, not God? God will not be upset with them...
Also, there is no difference between the God I worship and the God they worship. It's the same God. The difference is in the Doctrine and what their organization has them believing and interpreting the Word of God. There is nothing "evil" about what goes on in my church. There is nothing wrong with me and my beliefs. Now, I feel that they may think that since I went to their service they are better than me (which they prob. already thought). That since I went to their "Memorial", I'm not as loyal to my religion. No, it's not that...it's just that my religion allows me to think freely...I'm not being pulled by a string like they are and not being watched like they are! That's all! My husband tries to act as if he can now see how manipulated JWs are, but it's like their way of being is so encrusted into his mind that he can say things that don't make sense and not even realize it.
His mother raised him as if he was in a cage...studying the Bible, going to KH, door to door, and never having a "childhood"...when he reached the age of 18, he decided to stop all that. He went out, drank, partied, hung out with whomever he wanted, had premarital sex...well, you know became a human being! hahaha...Well, when this happened his mother said that she "LOST" her son. She hated him, didn't speak to him, wanted him out of her life, she didn't want him around his nieces and nephews b/c she said he was probably a child molestor now...Can you believe that? Well, in her eyes, he went the way of the devil! I was in shock when I heard all this from him. And in the end, I felt badly...I felt sorry for him, no human being should have to go through that. It's just wrong. This is one of the reasons why I feel like this religious organization is NOT GOOD. Yet, he's still loyal and loves his mother to death and will do things to please her.
well i just got home and i have a message on my machine saying that there will be a meeting tomorrow at the kingdom hall at 8:30pm for my appeal.
however, they said on the recording that i will be responsible for getting my own ride there.
there in lies the problem as i don't have a car right now.
What's up with JWs being so fearful of getting "calls"? It's not like God, Himself is the one calling you to come into his office for a conference and figure out your punishment for whatever you did wrong.
Say what you want about Catholics, but at least we don't have to worry about a priest "calling" us in for a conference about sinning. Instead, WE choose to go to confession...but we don't get "calls" and such!!! Man, it's like JWs are constantly being watched! It's scary to me!!!
i am a non jw, who has met a jw and we have been online chatting for last 9 months.
i have fallen in love with him.
he has been trying to push me away lately, and finding out one of the reasons is because of the religious background.
Hey Broken Hearted!!
I'm sorry you're in this situation. I know exactly what you are feeling and it's not a good feeling. Unlike you though, I got involved with my now husband without knowing that he and his whole family were JWs. When I found out it was too late. I was already engaged and involved and carrying his child. My husband has been disfellowshipped, but still acts as if he is being watched and judged b/c his mother is constantly on him about things. He does things that are not seen as "right" by the organization, and tries to please his mother. Trust me, she was not a happy camper with she found out I was not JW. I've gone through a lot of stress and I don't recommend it to anyone. It's easy with my husband b/c he is a bit more open minded than his family...he has been fading slowly and has grown his OWN mind. I have to deal with his mother and she is a tough one!
My advice to you is to make sure you become educated on these people and learn all you can. They will try to tell you that you're wrong and that what you believe is wrong. You have to be equipped with the right tools verbally to respond to their offensive comments. I've learned little by little and I have a lot more to go. This is why I"m here, b/c I need help still. '
I know that once you're in love with the person it's hard to let go. I love my husband and he loves me. We live our lives the way we want and that's that...no organization, no judgements, and no lies. WE've been thrown hurdles but we've overcome them. It can be done, but with lots of determination.
Had I known he was JW before I got involved...I probably would've thought twice about getting my feelings involved. HE DIDN'T THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT B/C HE HAD ALREADY BEEN D'FSHIPPED...SO IT DIDN'T MATTER TO HIM.
