my family will not be attending the march.
i respect bill and what he has accomplished, but i believe that attempts to control the march and the marchers, are misplaced -- even damaging for victims of abuse -- who have been controlled enough!.
the last thing victims of abuse need is to be told to keep up appearances.
mike, this thread is really not worthy of any responses, but since I, along with other posters, took the time to donate money to your cause, you can take the time to read this.
Let there be two processions. One that wants to be controlled, and one that wants to openly express their emotions in whatever way they, as victims of abuse, feel that they need to.
is this really your childrens' idea, or your's? did you see Connie Chung? If not, I suggest you get a tape from someone. Amber and Holly were both abused, yet both, in the short amount of time they were given, showed an abundance of control and came across in a direct, concise, manner. neither one appeared extremely emotional or unrestrained. Do you doubt for one moment that because they acted in this manner, they were not angry? What if they would have told Bill that they couldn't be "controlled" in front of the camera, or they could not be "limited" on their time?
For the love of God Mike, what kind of example are you proving to be to your kids? Are you teaching them that it's ok to go on a public forum and take up peoples' time and money and then go back on your word because some control will have to be shown? I'm sorry Mike, but being abused isn't an excuse to be intolerant of self-control........ What's really sad, is the march is going to be, with or without you, but you've totally screwed it up for any sincere people that come on this forum in the future with a real cause that they need financial help with....
Amazing that a group of adults still can't deal with disagreements without resorting to such behavior.----------Mike Pence
yea, isn't it though...........

4. "the practice of reproducing and distributing publications of Jehovahs Witnesses in an electronic document is a violation of copyright laws. While some may view this as a service to the brothers. it is not approved and should be discontinued".
this makes perfect sense........we want to get the good news out, but don't reproduce and distribute WTS publications........
in other words, without a JW interpreting this nonsense, it will be seen for the nonsense it is ?.......or.....we want every nickel we can get ?

yesterday was my birthday.
i got greetings from a number of friends from here in atlanta and also from people who had never met me from around the world since my birthday announcement was carried on a couple of the central bear pages on the internet.. there is clearly no prohibition against birthdays in the bible.
the reason the watchtower prohibits birthday celebrations is the same reason they discourage college, extracurricular activities in school, etc.
good point joel, and happy belated !
why do they even bother with memorial services for their members ? why do they find it acceptable to acknowledge a person's death when they find it unacceptable to acknowledge something as miraculous as his birth?
oh, but wait, they don't acknowledge his death do they, they have an "info-mercial" for the k.h.
ah ha!!
now that i got your attention.... well, oprah hasn't yet awarded $50,000 to silent lambs, but she very well could if enough of us "nominate" silentlambs (bill/sheila/joe/barbara, et al) for oprah's "use your life award.
" any regular oprah-watchers will know what i'm referring to; that during the season, she presents various individuals (on monday's show each week) with this award for their service to their cause (along with the big fat check)... .

in early march of this year, in the echoes of uncertainty left after the horror of 9-11, just one year after i had nearly died myself from a massive, still unexplained, seizure, i determined that i wanted to be a writer.
there were so many things i wanted to write about, my head swirled with possibilities.
one topic kept coming front and center, unavoidably.
you're at 80 something percent! cool..............
almost there.......................
yesterday morning i emailed o'reilly and hannity/colmes with the press release re: cnn program.. today, i sent this:.
when will you interview the watchtower society and start helping those kids too?
you have a lot of media power bill.
my disfellowshipping
as with anyone associated with jehovahs witnesses the worst possible news anyone can have is being df.
it means a loss of everyone and everything you have known all your life.
If the WTS's strategy is to get rid of the smartest and strongest, they're doing a wonderful job.....
"He who has done his best for his own time has lived for all times."-------Friedrich Von Schiller
I'd say that includes the Bowens and the Andersons...........
Peace, Christina
as most of you already know, the jehovah's witnesses are covering an article in their august kingdom ministry to be discussed the weeks of 8/19 and 8/26 which details how they are to shun and avoid those who are no longer members of their organization, even immediate family members.. .
undoubtedly this article has been written to reinforce to the rank&file jehovah's witnesses the shunning policy, so as to tighten the ranks and prevent members from having the opportunity to learn the abundant contradictions and hypocrisies found within watchtower doctrine and practice from any who may have left.. this policy also serves to divide families and attempt to shame or abuse those whom have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, for whatever reason.. that much is obvious.
in recent days this topic has been discussed in detail in various threads.
I have never been shunned because I was never baptized......I can understand why the "shunned" are hurt by not being able to see the children or grandchildren in their families.
as for adults that shun a family member or friend because they're told to, and not feel in their heart that something is wrong with that, I would never miss the company of such a spineless person.
some people can do no more with their lives than follow..............
today is bill's birthday.
happy birthday bill.
wishing you a little time to yourself.
Bill, you're awesome...............hope you have a wonderful one!
the miracle of birth is beautiful, I am reminded of the most beautiful memories I have each year on the day of my child's birth. only an organization like the WTS would attempt to make something so special, evil, and something so evil, a "misunderstanding......"
