On Memorial Day in the US

raised in a family of jws, i was taught that memorial day was a worldly celebration.

and i believed that the wts was right and all war was wrong.

as i grow older, and watch those born in a carefree generation grow, i pause and wonder what would've been if all the eighteen year-olds in the 1940s would've been jehovah's witnesses.

yawn, bore, blah.................come on guys, jw's are getting pretty dusty here, where's the zest on this board ?

tell your relatives, friends, etc: hey, you were part of the u.n., the watchtower bible & tract society owned a majority of stock in a jw company that had military contracts, the organization that you represent was false prophesying that the world was going to end in the 1800s through the 1900s, and when you can prove to me otherwise, than maybe i'll talk to you.

these guys are just going along with the program because they've gone along this far and they don't know what else to do with their lives because all of their acquaintances are part of this organization and their lives are almost up.............................to turn completely against this organization would be declaring defeat of their very lives.

it wasn't unfair, but rude just the same.

i was out tonite, unusual for me, since i now have this child that i adore and spend every waking minute with.

i had an awesome time.

what is weird is that i thought about getting on this computer when i came home.

not too many notice our coming and going, and i guess that's one of the advantages of an online forum.

but more and more lately, i don't know if it's me, or the forum, but i've noticed more and more hate.

we've always disagreed, so i don't know if lately we just bring more bullshit to the board or what, but there's this splitting of sides.

to get to the other side.........i'm actually going to work today, but wanted to post this old, but unusual article for anyone, such as myself, that hasn't seen it.....what was interesting was the claim that "revisions in legal structure" were dictated by the need to keep pace with growth.

why then is bethel, as rumoured, downsizing, unless this growth has declined since this article was written.

i didn't see these articles posted, i apologize if i missed them......looks like the case has been delayed until october, so the calgary girl's transfusions will be complete by then !

(second article)... the first article has some interesting comments........notice "...defend their faith..." i thought it was a sixteen year old's life that is at stake, not "their" faith.............i can't help but wonder what the "ruling" would be if neither parent were a witness......would the wts go to court against non-jw parents of a minor that got baptized......that'd be good pr.... .
