  i was at a funeral this weekend, the first time i'd been in a kingdom hall in 13 years, the talk was short about a half hour, and all jw stuff as expected, but the one part of the talk made me laugh, the speaker said :.

  "we (a group of elders), had the oppourtunity to speak with a member of the governing body at the assembly, and he said : "we the governing body are confident that armageddon is close, and are ready for jehovah's day, are you ready ???"".

  i couldn't believe my ears, they will never learn.

  I hardily think that it's so near because the Bible says that every nation will hear of Christ before the second coming. I don't think we've reached that point by a long shot.

  okay, as most of you know from my other posts im trying to reach someone who is a jw.

  well, i was wondering if there were things that non-witnesses said to you that kept you from listening to them.

  are there things i should be sure not to say while witnessing?.

  Mom Died -- and I found out from an old friend!

  ok, i'm writing this thru tears as i just found out in the last 5 minutes.

  my dad died in august, and they had been together just 1 or 2 weeks over 70 years married!

  i didn't expect her to last without him, and visa versa.. i just tried to call my sister, and no answer there.

  What was your dream?

  i was such a romantic when i was younger.

  i entertained dreams that there was this one, beautiful woman out there that was meant for me, and i for her.

  i can remember thinking about these sort of things from a very early age, maybe as young as five years old.. this woman (girl then) haunted my dreams, literally.

  i haven't see my bf in a week or so because he had a business trip.

  we still haven't had a deep conversation about our beliefs yet.

  but the other day some jw's appeaered at the house.
