Why can't i ask questions?
by member inin the first chapter of the book " what does the bible really teach " students are encouraged to be humble and ask questions until they find satisfying answers.
why then, did no one reveal to me the history of the wtbts before i became a baptized publisher?
why do we encourage those of other faiths to look into their religion objectivley and yet we are not allowed to do the same of ours?

I'm beginning to think maybe you are sitting in the basement of bethel on monitoring duty.
I like that thought.

For jw .... if you don't mind my asking, how long have you been a jw?
by jgnat inhow long did you study before you got baptized?.
were there any long standing habits you had to get rid of before you got baptized?.
do you bring your children to the meetings?.

Unfortunately for them, jw's are surprisingly easy to despise. (the "I have the truth and you don't attitude" is just always obnoxious no matter how you package it!!!)
As a result, most here will feel more inclined to give them a good theocratic slapping around.
The problem is that only reinforces their worldview of apostates/df/da - types being bad people.
You want to mess with jw? Mess with his world view. Kill him with kindness, reasoned discussion, fair questions, logical debate, and even sympathy.
The longer jw stays here, the shorter his/her stay in spiritual bondage.
This is sooooo true!

In the first chapter of the book " What does the bible really teach " students are encouraged to be humble and ask questions until they find satisfying answers. Why then, did no one reveal to me the history of the WTBTS before i became a baptized publisher? WHY?! Why do we encourage those of other faiths to look into their religion objectivley and yet we are not allowed to do the same of ours? Why does the WTBTS nearly always tear down and hardly every build up those of other beliefs?
You must remember all Jw's and leaders are human just like you and they may not know the answer and are to embarrassed to admit it.
Why is name calling used to catergorize any who turn away from the JW faith as people of bad character, when this is not always so? Human error.
Why are not the Governing Body as candid about their errors and the past errors of the WTBTS as the bible writers were? They are candid about their errors , try reading the reasoning from scriptures book.
Why does the year text " We must obey God as ruler rather than men " seem so ironic when hanging in a KH? If the congregation does not follow the scripture, " We must obey God as ruler rather than men " , then what will you accomplish by pointing it out to them? Just follow that scripture all the time, for yourself. .
Why was i so blind? ??????????/
Why am i judged and why have i judged a persons spirituality and their worth as christians by the amount of time they spend in the field service? That can be made right at any point and time you choose to do that.

by mavie ini am wondering how those who believe jesus is the almighty lord god reconcile the following passages in chapter 1.
john 1:1 - ..."the word was god.
john 1:14 - "and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the father,) full of grace and truth.

First of all, the scriptures are not a literal translation
Read the correct scriptures below! Greek/English Interlinear (tr) NT) John 1:14 kai <2532> {AND} o <3588> {THE} logoV <3056> {WORD} sarx <4561> {FLESH} egeneto <1096> (5633) {BECAME,} kai <2532> {AND} eskhnwsen <4637> (5656) {TABERNACLED} en <1722> {AMONG} hmin <2254> {US,} kai <2532> {(AND} eqeasameqa <2300> (5662) thn <3588> {WE DISCERNED} doxan <1391> autou <846> {HIS GLORY,} doxan <1391> {A GLORY} wV <5613> {AS} monogenouV <3439> {OF AN ONLY BEGOTTEN} para <3844> {WITH} patroV <3962> {A FATHER,} plhrhV <4134> {FULL} caritoV <5485> {OF GRACE} kai <2532> {AND} alhqeiaV <225> {TRUTH.} ----------------------------------------- Greek/English Interlinear (tr) NT) John 1:1 | en <1722> {IN [THE]} arch <746> {BEGINNING} hn <2258> (5713) {WAS} o <3588> {THE} logoV <3056> {WORD,} kai <2532> {AND} o <3588> {THE} logoV <3056> {WORD} hn <2258> (5713) {WAS} proV <4314> ton <3588> {WITH} qeon <2316> {GOD,} kai <2532> {AND} qeoV <2316> {GOD} hn <2258> (5713) {WAS} o <3588> {THE} logoV <3056> {WORD.} --------------------------------------------------------- Greek/English Interlinear (tr) NT) John 1:18 qeon <2316> {GOD} oudeiV <3762> {NO ONE} ewraken <3708> (5758) {HAS SEEN} pwpote <4455> {AT ANY TIME;} o <3588> {THE} monogenhV <3439> {ONLY BEGOTTEN} uioV <5207> {SON,} o <3588> {WHO} wn <5607> (5752) {IS} eiV <1519> {IN} ton <3588> {THE} kolpon <2859> {BOSOM} tou <3588> {OF THE} patroV <3962> {FATHER,} ekeinoV <1565> {HE} exhghsato <1834> (5662) {DECLARED [HIM].}John Chapter 1

Lao People's Democratic RepublicI am wondering how those who believe Jesus is the Almighty Lord God reconcile the following passages in Chapter 1. John 1:1 - ..."the Word was God." John 1:14 - "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. " John 1:18 - "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." If one believes that the Word, or Jesus, was God, then how can the apparent conflict found in verses 14 and 18 be resolved? If the Word became flesh and dwelt among us then he certainly was seen by many people on the Earth. However, verse 18 states that no one has seen God. .

jw - I really believe you could enjoy this place, and there are many Christains here to prove it, if you just develop a sense of humour.
Honestly, I do not have a sense of humor.
But I do appreciate your comment.

When you were a witness, did you ever wonder where the GOOD witnesses were?
by BizzyBee ini grew up in the borg and can remember feeling a disconnect with the portrayal of witness behavior in the literature and what i actually experienced.
the stories from the yearbook about people wanting to study with witnesses "thirsty for knowledge of the truth" were so different from the responses i got in the fs, where people just seemed annoyed.
the pictures of happy folk and families of all colors looking toward some ray of light, united in the love for jehoober and each other, did not square with what was going on in my congo.

well i do sometimes look at the pictures of the family studies where they're sitting there all smiley and playing kingdom songs on the flute, and think, thank god no-one really does that.
Wow , do you really believe no one really sits around plays musical instruments and /or have family or church sing alongs?
My family does that all the time, almost every evening.

You are saying I THINK you [This forum] is without Gods guiding spirit.
I am insinuating that this site is not guided by Gods spirit based on all the horrible replies and insults.
That comment is so offencive to many of the Christians here who are dedicating their lives to follow Christ. Your comments are insulting.
Are there any christians on this site?
It would be nice to hear from some of them!
My advice is either get off your high horse and partake in constructive discussion, or go away to your kingdom hall.
I would partake in a constructive conversation but it is difficult to find one on this site. So maybe I will post a few .
Then if this site continues to be a disappointment I will gladly leave!

Answers again come from a negative spirit.
Does any one here actually have a kind spirit within them?

Can you people honestly say Gods Spirit is Guiding you?]
