How long did you study before you got baptized?

Were there any long standing habits you had to get rid of before you got baptized?

Do you bring your children to the meetings?

    Has your husband calmed down?

Does he ever go to the meetings with you?

Did you ever open a bible before you met the Witnesses?

Do you keep up on your weekly studies and conventions?

...sincerely curious, here. I hope you don't mind.

    > You quit smoking AND masturbating, or did you just quit doing them both at the same time?

I was studying with the JWs on and off for 3 years before I was baptised and I left about seven years later after a prolonged period of inactivity.I had no family.

I had no bad habits such as smoking or gambling and what I knew about religion prior to the JWs was from religious education at school.

You guys...taking me so LITERALLY. I was attempting to draw out our very own little jw . You know. The one who still trusts the elders.

Well, he's noticeably quiet on the topic.

Unfortunately for them, jw's are surprisingly easy to despise. (the "I have the truth and you don't attitude" is just always obnoxious no matter how you package it!!!)

As a result, most here will feel more inclined to give them a good theocratic slapping around.

The problem is that only reinforces their worldview of apostates/df/da - types being bad people.

You want to mess with jw? Mess with his world view. Kill him with kindness, reasoned discussion, fair questions, logical debate, and even sympathy.

The longer jw stays here, the shorter his/her stay in spiritual bondage.
