What is a Christian, please define? I believe the book you call the bible, gives that definition. Well here's one of the first steps to becomming a Christian...
(John 6:52-59) 52
Therefore the Jews began contending with one another, saying: "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" 53 Accordingly Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. 54 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father, he also that feeds on me, even that one will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when YOUR forefathers ate and yet died. He that feeds on this bread will live forever." 59 These things he said as he was teaching in public assembly at Ca·per´na·um. JW, did you notice who Jesus was speaking to, the Jew's? And did you notice, Jesus said " Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. their is no mention of, differant classes of people.
By passing the emblems and not partaking, are we not in fact denigning Christ, and the covenant arrangement, and where does that leave us? Jesus said: "He that feeds on this bread will live forever"... so how are we to "live forever" if we don't do as Jesus commanded, to eat his flesh and drink his blood ??? I believe this scripture shows what we are, when we denign Chist by rejecting those emblems.
(1 John 2:22-23) 22
Jhn 6:22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but [that] his disciples were gone away alone; Jhn 6:23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)
Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son. 23 Everyone that denies the Son does not have the Father either. . ." What are YOU?
