Were you an eye witness to the event, if so, WTF??? So are you saying you were present while someone was abusing a child? If you were a eye witness then you should have gone to the authorities and contacted local agencies. Authorities were contacted. If you were saying that you were a Jehovah's Witness, I don't understand the purpose of stating your religion. Maybe the person was never charged with a crime because no "witnesses" were willing to come forward. The person got a slap on the wrist and ordered never to come back to that city!
It appears to me that you are engaged in this thread in order to provoke people in a heated debate because you get a charge out of it. To each there own. For someone who seems to take issue with this forum as hostile and unnecessary, you are participaing it as well. That would lead one to question your true motive. If this site is such a waste of time, why are you here arguing with everyone. What is your definition of argue? I don't see myself as arguing.

I was in the same kingdom hall since my kids were born. Why would I think an elder would not protect my child when I can guarantee you, I would have protected his child.

As far as hurting him, If you read my other posts, I have post traumatic stress disorder and freak out if anyone hurts any child. Ever heard of temporary insanity? Believe me, I will hurt anyone that hurts my child, it is called a mother's instinct.

You are right, sexual abuse is not limited to the JW's.
Unfortunately in this society women and children have no value. I'm sure this will upset a lot of people.
But you don't see child molesters getting put away for as long as murders because the victim/survivor is still alive, although there are probably days when they wish they weren't.
If everytime a child was abused they hung the abuser from a tree in the town square it might be a deterrant (sp?). People get away with doing the most horrible things to the most vulnerable - women and children.
Someone should try to protect and help no matter the religion.

I know for a fact there are pedophiles and child molesters in EVERY RELIGION and in people who have no religion. Another fact, if I had been sexually abused by some "worldly person" in another religion, my parents would've made it public, made sure my preditor was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Since he was a Jehovah's Witness, though, I got no justice. It was ok what the "brother" did to me. Hidden and excused. My parents were faced with expulsion from the congregation if they pressed charges. The people like you that like to make posts like you have here obviously didn't have happen to them as a six year old little girl what I had happen to me. I will excuse your ignorance as just that.

Maybe I am misunderstanding this reply, it seems you say your parents would have made known the molestor and had them prosecuted to fullest extent of law. Then you say you were molested and your parents did nothing. Which is it?

While "stranger danger" is an important concept, having worked with sexually abused kids, I have to say that I didn't come across a single situation in my work where a child was abused by a stranger. It happens and is a real threat. All kids, however, need to learn about limits that anyone and everyone - even friends and family members - should respect and the need to communicate about a violation of those limits, no matter who crosses the line.
Well if you honestly have never come across a child molested by a stranger, which I seriously doubt,
then thank God for that!

How about you give us some examples of what you or people that are JWs have done to "expand and stop the child abuse world wide"

But I still give word of mouth info .
And as for the world we need to have monthly meetings with the police and inform and have discussions on this subject. Especially to get them to inforce the law . And if possible encourage all who have been sexually abused to enter into law enforcment careers.
If you know a child molestor personally definitly warn everyone possible.
This is a better solution than just bashing a christian organization.

That is true because my dad was not a Jehovahs Witness. But as a mother who was molested, I did everything I could to protect my children by teaching them about strangers and watching them where ever they were. But what niether me nor my husband counted on was that in the "spiritual paradise" in "gods only true organization" that my son would be allowed to go to the bathroom, where he would be vunerable, with his Pants down, alongside a man who was called a "brother" in good standing and was jailed on numerous occasions for child rape and sodomy. And, that the elders knew of it and reinstated him three times, and did not let any of the families in the hall know that this predator was in there. They were more concerned with keeping up the appearance that we had a clean congregation. If one older sister, who knew truth about this man, had not come forward we would have remained in the dark.
Sorry to hear you were molested.
Now jw, let me ask you since you feel you have the truth and all: If someone like this was in the Isrealite nation, what would Jehovah do about it? Would he allow this person to remain in good standing?
Of course the right thing should have been done in the congregation.
Thank Jehovah that nothing happened to my child because if it did, either my hubby or I would have been jailed for hurting or killing this predator along with the elder who did not protect our children.
Two wrongs do not make a right. If you had done the above you would be just like the child abuser.
And one more thing: this elder had a child too, a young boy. His son was protected because he knew this mans past but he let all the other children go to the restroom with this man, and no parents. Becuase if you have kids (which I doubt because you sound too imature), then you would know that a 7 year old wants to be a big boy and go to the rest room alone.
I have 7 children age from 36 yrs. old to 18. And none of my kids have ever been sexually molested.
And I would not have let a 7 yr. old in a bathroom alone to begin with and a 7 yr. old should not be allowed to make that decision. Maybe I am an over protective parent but my 18 yr. old is not allowed to go out without someone with him that we trust with him. And I still warn him about places of sexual predators may attack. And before you say it is impossible to protect your kids 24/7 , you can still be informed and advise your kids why they need to not go certain places alone. And if you still are insistent on letting you child go to the bathroom alone in a public place then time him or be outside the bathroom so you can at least intervene if in there too long or call to your child for a response all is well. I can tell you, sexual molestation can happened at your own home, taking the trash out, checking the mail, a friends home, public school, churches, public stores, swimming pools, while riding a bike close to home, at family reunions or holidays, parties, etc....!
Do you think that this elder did the right thing? do you think Jehovah would agree with his actions for not protecting the young lambs in the org?
Duh of course it was wrong but your suppose to make things right not tear down a christian organization.
Right after leaving this hall, we went to one a few miles away and guess what?. .....................The elders there were keeping secret another pedophile too. Thank god I am out and my children are safe.
