Hi all! I'm a fading dub, but still active, and still in contact with other JWs. A pioneer JW came up to me yesterday, and invited me over to his place for dinner tonight. I told him I couldn't come as I had night school. His response was 'Well why did you start working full time anyway? If you quit your job and go back to pioneering, like you should be, you wouldn't have these problems.' This annoyed me, I hate it when JWs tell me how I should be living MY life. I didn't want to go to his anyway! So I wasn't going to leave it at that. And so the following conversation took place: Me: 'Yeah, so what happens in the future if I get married, and then have a family, how will pioneering help me to look after, and provide for them?' Him: 'Well, that's not going to be a problem, as there's no way this System is going to last for more than 5 years.' Me: 'And how can you possibly know that?' Him: 'Well, the youngest anointed can't be any younger than 75, so they haven't got long left, and so it can't really go on any longer, can it?' Me: 'How do you know the youngest ones are 75, have you met them all?' Him: 'Well, no, but I'm related to the one of the anointed, and she's in her 90s, but a lot of the anointed probably aren't genuine, but she definitely is genuine, so there probably are people under 75 who say they're anointed, but they wouldn't be genuine.' (He likes to throw his being related to an anointed thing into conversation whenever possible, as if it makes him any more special than any Witness who isn't distantly related to any anointed, or even has anything to do with the other anointed) Me: 'How do you know your aunt is genuine. Have you asked her how she knows she's anointed?' Him: 'Yes, I have!' (He was getting a bit worked up here) Me: 'What did she say?' Him: 'That's none of your business.' (I don't know why?) Me: 'Ok. But what if you asked someone under 75, and they gave you the same answer, how would you know they're not anointed?' Him: 'Well, they wouldn't, because they're not genuine!' Me: 'But what about the anointed who were appointed to the Governing Body last year, they were in their 50s, are they not genuine?' Him: 'I never said that!' (Actually, you did) Me: 'And besides, age is irrelevant now, if you read your Jan 1st 2007 Watchtower, you'll find that the Society say they are no longer sure whether or not they'll be any anointed left on the Earth when Armageddon comes, so even if they are all above 75, it doesn't mean the end has to come in 5 years.' Him: 'Oh. So, you definitely can't come tomorrow then?' Me: 'No, sorry.' Him: 'Ok, well, I have to be off now, I'll see you later.' Me: 'Bye!' Ah, I love putting self-righteous Dubs in their place! And now I've found out that the anointed have gone up by 234! That's just too funny. And, this recent 'new light' really does remove any timeline any JW can put on the end anyway. Have a good day everyone, I'll be off to those evening classes in about 30 minutes. It's hard work, but it still beats pioneering!

i explained i don't understand how they can even be offering these fractions as a choice because of the stored blood situation.

'The fallout at the congregation level was that no groups of JWs could meet together to pre-study the WT. Two single people perhaps or 2 families but anything more than that brought pressure from the elders to end them.'
I don't think this is still policy as I know of 'spiritual' youths who regularly get together to pre-study the WT. I used to do it with them, but now I avoid it. But then, considering that we had a Watchtower symbol built into our Kingdom Hall brickwork within the last 5 years, it's possible that our elders just don't always follow policy? Though, it's only ever the WT, and never the bible, of course! -

by 5thGeneration ini think it's hilarious that when you post facts there is still always someone arguing it.. makes you want to stop bothering if people don't want to learn.. but then again my family has only been in the truth for 100 years so what would i know?.

Watchtower logo on side of kingdom hall
by cyberdyne systems 101 inmy old kingdom hall has the watchtower logo built into the brick work on the side that faces the road - to me for a hall that is supposed to be dedicated to god, its a bit wrong to have a corporation logo on the side of it.
maybe its there to show they and not the congregation own it???

Astonishing Publisher Peak in Britain for August 2006
by slimboyfat inwell i just got the new kingdom ministry for december and it has the publisher peak for august: 129,482!.
that is quite an amazing total when you compare it to the trend of recent years:.
2006 - 129,482. i wish i could produce a graph, but you get the picture - there has been a dramatic increase in the publisher peak number this year compared with the recent downward trend after the 1995 "generation" change and subsequent stagnation.

Our average attendance is under 100, but during the CO Visit, we had 150 for his public talk. A few visitors and studies, but most of the extras were just people who weren't very active, and for the Memorial we get close to 200, although many of them are studies or magazine routes, so I would think they do under-estimate their figures. I think the hours these publishers report are very inaccurate though. Especially the elders and ministerial servants, or other ones reaching out, who know they have to report 10+ hours a month, to keep, or gain, a position, but are too lazy to actually do much Service. Quite a few Polish Witnesses have moved here from Poland, but there's also quite a few studying, who started shortly after coming here. I expect about 6 or 7 of these to get baptised within the next year.

I reckon it's all the Polish that have come into the country... Seriously, the Polish increase in our Congregation is very quick, at least compared to the English, and I know of many Congregations that are the same, they've been a real boost to loads of areas.

5th Generation, Like I've already posted, our Kingdom hall was remodeled about 5 years ago and we put a WT logo in the brickwork, I know this because I helped to build it, and since they wouldn't have let me work on the hall if I wasn't baptised, and I was baptised at 14, it was much less than a decade ago.

Tonight's service meeting

asking for more contributions in order to build more kh and reminded everyone not only to give cash but don't forget about leaving something for them in your will.. 25 min.
on the proper use of blood which is also a joke.. the km mentioned you cannot take the four components of blood individually in your body but every component was broken into smaller fractions which is up to you to make a decision to accept or reject.. the common jw does not know their left from their right in making decisions about the dozens of fractions of blood but they will obey blindly and not ask a question because that would be considered apostasy.. .
