this teaching is so unique and singular to the jws and fascinates me greatly but i have yet to get any jw answer how this choosing actually happened and instead i'm left with the same feeling of confusion that i get when i ask how someone would know they were anointed.
how did this process of selecting a correct church occur, how did they know it would happen in 1919 if they weren't pre-selected already, how did they know it was going to happen (bit rough on all the other churches who clearly didn't get a chance to spruce themselves up for 1919) and once the votes were cast and jehovah made up his mind how did he inform the contestants of the results?
do the jws claim any kind of divine affirmation of their selection at all?

..god created us..to fart?..why?..we`ve got to get rid of gas somehow..what does he give us to do it with?..a tiny friggin hole!..in our bum..??
?..he knew that was gonna make some noise..did he think that was funny?..god made beautifully fragrant flowers, you think he could have done a better job with the fart.but no,that had to be funny too..first comes a noise that would raise the dead, then an odor that would put them back in the grave..none of it makes any sense, unless your a comedian...outlaw
just another thought which i may have misunderstood but doesn't add up for me is how do the jws expect the un to destroy all false religions without touching the jws - or are they included in the destruction of false religion?
"What the Future Holds for Us"
The following is a lecture given by Bethel speaker and former United Nations NGO representative for the Watchtower Ciro Aulicino, speaking about how the evil United Nations will engineer the attack on the Watchtower. The date: October 2001 in South Carolina. This lecture is about 65 minutes long, and is divided into three Real Audio segments of about 21 minutes each.

Q,
According to the WTC this "cleansing" caused the Bible Students to shed many of their Babylonish ways and to be found acceptable by Jesus. The problem is; that at the time of this "selection", the Bible Students were still celebrating Christmas, using the cross, were using pagan Egyptian and Masonic symbols on their books, and were teaching that Jesus had returned in 1874. None the less, Jesus still selected them as his "Faithful Slave".
This is highlighted in R Franz book either COC or "In search for Christian freedom". It will give you a good picture of the wt reasoning and the reality of claims made.

COC gives a good explanation, but I have given my copies away so I can’t give you a page.
My memory on the wt teaching is that 1919 was foreshadowed by Jesus baptism (anointing as king) and a few years later going to the temple and running out the money-makers (Temple Inspection). This was prophetic and had a modern-day fulfilment: 1914 Jesus becomes King and 1919 Jesus goes to inspect the spiritual temple to find the only true worshipers Rutherford and his Bible Students.
Actually just another case were the society tells Jehovah and Jesus what to do and when to do it.

yup.
jw's.
i told them to come over tomorrow.
The jw I last spoke to, I asked to explain the "trumpet blasts" mentioned in Revelation. The jw with the help of the Climax! book had trouble explaining it and as expected said we must trust the FDS. So I replied that we criticise other people for blindly following their religious leadership without reasoning from the scriptures (Acts 17:11; 2 Tim 3:16 –Oh, it is good to read scriptures to them, somehow they don’t like it, since they are the shepherds, not you!).
From there I went to recent changes, the "new light" regarding voting, blood, the generation and ask why the change, when the scriptures have not changed. If the old light is no longer right then it is wrong and was not the truth. That means none of us were in the truth until we got the proper truth! I told him that this is causing me confusion and when he does more research on the trumpet blast I’ll be happy to get some encouragement. Haven’t heard anything since…
They will definitely want to discuss Heb. 11:24, 25 and there are some good points here… http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/122595/1.ashx
I think it is ok to speak to the elders and plant some seeds, but it might also get the ball rolling in getting you out.

see it all the time...and children even talking about it!.
is there any evidence that can prove all religions are nothing more than other mens guesses into the intentions and plans of god?.
we cannot even discern each others intentions or thoughts...how can someone claim to know god's?
