I m happy you were able to tell them what you did. And i think, that one elder knows you were telling the truth and the elders failed. The meeting with the CO, which they most likly had, must have made him uncomfortable too.
Yes, their story to the congregation will be very different, as they came in almost late and tired trying all they could to offer you both all the help possible, but you denied it. They whish they didnt have to make that decision, but again YOU left them NO OTHER WAY! Even the loving CO sent by the wts was not able to turn you away from what you know is bad.
I hope you may have made one of them -maybe the nervous one- think!

Public Talks question
by bite me inif one is assigned to do a public talk.
prepares for it and proceudes to give it.
if that person gives the talk but does not give the information that is spoon fed but shares his or her own researched material and it still relates to the topic is that person immediately taken off stage?

As far as I know, it is the PO who is in-charge of the public talk. He is actually the general manager the WTS communicates with. He decides if the speaker should be taken off the platform, he can interrupt the speaker, the PO is the one to give clarification or correction from the platform after the talk is given, and also give counsel to the speaker (visiting or local) in private.
The Talk Coordinator (who is assigned by the PO) only makes the arrangement for the speakers travel and accommodation and theme and date of talk to be given.
I think the "Pay Attention" book has a page on that...?
