Thanks, that’s actually the point I was making. I don’t believe in prophecy. 2 Tim should apply as it was and when it was written and the clarity of all scripture should disclose the parts in the Bible in which ‘God is not painted in a good light’. How does the ‘bad light on God’ harmonize with the ‘good light’ in the light (not prophecy) of 2 Timothy?

another thread inspired by me chatting with our sweet little mary.... we who have exited the jehovahs witnesses religion, are now convinced we made the right move.
most of us have no doubt this religion is a destructive, cultlike religion that we wouldn't wish on anybody....and yet,.
....we still suffer the effects it had on us.
When I think back it seems to me like it was a different person I am thinking of. Today it is remote and my reasoning is so much different now. However it took me a while not to call it ‘the Truth’. It’s like having two lives.

I am sure this was discussed already. Did the rumors about satanic art reach Brooklyn? And did it have any impact on the bethel workers? Are the many demon faces just coincidental or is there more to issue? Many WT pictures are gruesome as they are and hardly need hidden symbols.

As a child sitting through endless boring meeting we spend much time looking at the pictures. We often found funny or ugly faces in the clouds, walls or hair of people. Or when joining bible studies sitting around a small table, seeing your opposite’s book upside down. We often had a laugh after these meetings. Some of them were spooky though, but I never took it serious. One picture I found disturbing as a JW was the one on page 302 “Revelation – Grand Climax!” book. The depiction of New Jerusalem reminded me more of Brooklyn HQ compared with the Jerusalem of John’s day. I felt the picture was very bold and arrogant just as the visiting speakers from Brooklyn! Dismembered, I cant find my Songbook but I’ll look it up.
