Hello everybody
by iamfreenow ini am marion, a friend of fullofdoubtnow (linda), and i have just disassociated from jehovahs witnesses.
i was only announced a couple of days ago, after a lifetime of association.
linda has posted about me before, but it's wonderful to be able to post in my own right, and i am really looking forward to getting to know you all.. i am 59 years of age, 60 in november, and have been a jw all my life, baptised since 1961, and i thought i would always be a witness, but i now know absolutely that it isn't the truth.

Hello and Welcome Marion,
I can just imagine how strange it is to be on the other side after a life as JW. I never thought I would be talking with ‘evil’ apostates, never mind agreeing with or becoming one.
I’m happy you are posting here and sure things will develop fine for you in the future.
Enjoy the freedom,

What were your seating habits at the hall?
by JH ini would always leave a space between me and someone else.
i hated when someone was seated right next to me.
didn't feel comfortable.. i also loved sitting in back of a tall person, that would hide everything, like that i could close my eyes and the speaker wouldn't notice.....lol.

We had ‘reserved’ seats. The long-time cong members always sat in the same seat. Even when we ones used a different hall you would still find people sitting in the same pattern. There was counsel from the CO or km which made people choose different seats for a short while, but a few weeks later it was back to the old routine. At least it made things easier for the conductor and the brothers running the mics. fts

Yes I did … well, most of them, depending on who related it.
Remember this one? A householder receives a book and shows it to her husband as he came home. He flings it out the window in disgust. It hits a man walking by on the head. The man picks it up, reads the title and is instantly interested in reading it and takes it home. He begins to read and can’t put it down. The next day he returns to the house where he got hit in order to return the book. As the husband to the door the man thanks him for the book and says it has changed his life since he has now found the truth and asks the householder for a bible study. The householder is so impressed that ha wants to know more about the book, he invites him in. So the man who read the book sat down with the husband and wife and tells them everything about the book. They all become JWs. fts

Welcome!
What you say is very true. The R&F are left in the dark when it comes to the attaining of brighter light and the operations of the WTS.

Agapa,
I think you know you will not find many to agree with you here. You may also have noticed the most posters here are very well familiar with the WT teachings. The WT is forever changing it’s "present truth" so if you ‘wait on Jehovah’ maybe the FDS will soon tell you what is wrong with this. Remember 1975 or "the 1914 generation". If you have doubts in the today’s text speak to one of your elders and ask him to support you. Are you really convinced that you are in the truth? Do you believe that Jesus appointed the FDS and you need to follow and trust that class?
I want to believe that you genuinely want to help "lost sheep" to find their way back to the organization, but I doubt this approach will work.
When I was an active jw I was happy to help many come back to the meeting, go in FS and comment at meetings. To my surprise I was faced with envy and enmity of some of the elders because of my success. I never used scar tactics or pressure. What worked was genuine concern. I honestly believed to be doing the right and best thing. Today I know better. But I’m not sure about what you are doing here. What is you motive? Would you like to give a comment on the text?
You are one against many here, so may I suggest you carefully find someone in you congregation (not elder -you know why) to work together with you. Working in twos is a long-time jw method. What do you think?
