Anti-Witnessed at an Office Today! It was fun!

i had to travel to another newspaper owned by the company i work for to learn some of their software today.

it's an open office with everyone in one room, and we had a lot of interesting conversations on all sorts of subjects.. at one point a reporter made a comment about a photo he was running, and noted that the woman had made comments that it was only with the help of the lord that she had been able to move her radio shack store to its new location.

one of the other reporters said that it was good that jesus had died on the cross 2000 years ago so that he could be available to help her out.

it broke my heart to read about someone having to paying court fee's after wining a sexual abuse case against the wtbts.

she ended up winning 5,000 dollars but has to pay 220000 dollars in court feee to wtbts and for her lawyer.

It would appear to many people that Jehovah's Witnesses have two Bibles. The physical bible that is used to teach and to keep themselves out of trouble by following it word for word. And the non-physical bible that is the verbal direction and guidelines that is given out from the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society / Governing Body and disseminated to the District Overseers, Circuit Overseers and Elders.

With these two chains of commend the physical bible has now become more of a tool that is used to absolve their sinful actions that the verbal bible has condemned them with.

As with this case, it is truly sad that children are so many times the victim and it seems they hardly get a fair chance of someone being honest and admitting their mistakes in trying to follow orders and instead tries to save face under the guise of not bringing reproach upon the name of GOD. My only comfort at this time is found at:

Mat 18:6 But whoever causes one of these little ones believing in Me to offend, it is better for him that a millstone turned by an ass be hung on his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

As well as knowing that I have a personal line of communication with my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus in prayer. Jesus tells us how innocent children are and how they have the characteristics of being able to enter into His Kingdom. We all know too well that Satan will use children to pervert mankind and cause so much pain because of Jesus' special attention and His love towards them. Not until I became a father did I have a better idea of how GOD and Jesus must feel when a child is hurt. My heart screams loudly that this injustice must be stopped and my spirit and knowledge of GOD and Jesus helps to comfort me that the time for this to end is not indefinite.

Maybe thirdwitness will be moved by GOD to have an empathetic heartfelt attitude towards these things instead of just examining 'The Facts'. I will pray for GOD to have mercy on him and move him to have a kinder heart as it seems his zeal is quite strong. I pray that thirdwitness' heart is not hardened like that of Pharaoh, but as to the Will of My GOD, I can only be patient and wait for it to be done in His time.

i had a look at the wikipedia entry for jehovahs witnesses yesterday and noticed that it wasn't as comprehensive as it once was.. most links to non-pro-jw sites have gone as is anything truly critical or exposing of their beliefs and practices.. last night i added a link to this site to the "other sources" section.

this morning it is gone.. i wonder whether this is some private zealot who has decided to do it or an organised campaign?.

It was interesting to see the difference between my original post and that of the edited version with links to http://www.jw-media.org about their policy on Child Abuse. I have much more to learn about Wiki's. I was also unable to view the user who modified the text. I also liked some of the older versions that is still around on http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah%27s_Witnesses, especially the one dated February 03, 2004.

If so, we expect the elders to comply. Additionally, the victim may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so."[92]Critics charge that a number of charges have gone unreported.

Why would the WTBTS need to join itself with a part of the U.N. just for a ' library card ?' Would it have made better sense to use the New York Public Library or the Library of Congress. I'm sure those two institutions had access to the same information. This whole ordeal really doesn't make sense when the notion of the U.N. was something held in disdain among Jehovah's Witnesses.
But I guess that some people among the Society do not make wise decisions and end up stumbling many. I think it would have been better if an apology was made to the Witnesses in general for the stumbling. I don't recall one ever being made though.
After reading through this thread, it seems that much can be explained away or an attempt made at doing so, however, as it stands, the decision makers at Brooklyn did something they later felt enough regret about as to cancel their membership with the D.P.I. when it was brought out. If the general Witness had no ill feelings toward the U.N., then maybe it would have made no difference or stumbling, but since it had been taught that the U.N. stands in opposition to God's Kingdom, then they are part of the world that we were told to stay away from. And by learning about this union of God's Earthly Organization with an Organization that stands in opposition, many were stumbled and that action will be held accountable by all those who participated, promoted and partook of that act.
Whether or not it now stands as that or just another Human Rights Organziation, it still caused many to stumble, among whom where those who were not weak in faith or weak in their standing among the Congregation.

Maybe Interesting Blood News

i had a meeting with my heart surgeon yesterday, and after informing him of our faith, my wife still holding onto to parts of the organization, the dr. said that, "there is a new form that just came out last year from your mother church in new york.

" what this document does is (1) make it clear that the person is not allowing blood to be used, (2) makes it clear that the dr. will have a court order ready in case blood is deemed medically necessary to sustain life and (3) absolves the person's conscience of any guilt if it came down to it.

i'm not sure if this document has been discussed before, but i thought that it was a bit intriguing.

Hello and thank you very much for the warm words of encouragement. This really is a blessing. I now have the form but it is a bit more simplistic than what the Dr. described. It's been a while since I have seen anything like this so I don't have a reference point to go on but I think some of you may have more information on it.

It's a bit choppy as this is a fax, but I can get a better copy and scan it later. I'm now wondering if this is just the same information that has always been used. Or I was thinking that this form may be more generic but the HLC may have something different. I'm not sure, just speculating.

I have put a call into the surgeon and his nurse practitioner to have them fax or mail me the form as soon as possible. I appreciate your kind words of concern. This surgery is for my seven year old daughter who has a congenital heart defect and will undergo open heart surgery to repair the hole.
Although my wife is still grasping to the teaching of the society, she has volunteered to donate her own blood to our daughter. I felt very proud of her for doing this even before I was going to ask her. I have been slowly letting her know about the eye opening things I have learned while reading JWD.
For those who are eagerly waiting, I hope to get it soon because I could hardly believe it myself when the surgeon told me about it. He said that it came out of our "mother church" in New York. So it could be part of something that the society is trying to change or implement without much hoopla. I tried explaining what impact this form could have to the conscience of other witnesses, but she was having a hard time trying to understand it.
Considering it is 4PM here, I may not get an answer until Tuesday. But when I get it, I will share it.
