WT monitors sites?

there was a post on the other day someone was asking about whether the wt monitors websites such as this and other "apostate" sites.. unfortunately i couldn't find it to add this to it.

i remembered a jw who worked on installing computers at london bethel, some time ago telling me that the wt did monitor websites.

this jw is gradually fading away from being one, so can't say to much about him.

Well, it would seem that either the monitors knew about Joseph Cano's actions and could be held accountable, or he was able to find a way around it, or it does not really work that well. Most of this technology works well for high speed, (broadband), connections to the 'net' that are 'up' all of the time. But for the user who is still on dialup and going through a proxy like AOL®, EarthLink®, etc and traveling around the country, there really isn't much they can monitor, unless they have a way of converting all of those hisses and bleeps into something readable.

And we haven't got into cell phone dial-up, cell phone high-speed connections, mobile connection cards and the 'hotspot' topic yet.

Edmonton, alberta scandle with an Edmonton employee and Jw

a friend of mine, mentioned there is an edmonton city employee who is an emergency medical technician who is also a jw who is facing 4 very serious assault charges including sexual assualt, and who is a member of the sherwood park maples congregation, and who is being protected by the elders of the maples congregation who even allegedly lied to the rcmp when questioned............ the po named terry h is the ringleader who lied to the rcmp and who is protecting the edmonton emt.....

???

anyone else hear of this??

Naughty! Naughty!, who's selling the DUBS answers?

last night my wife came home and told me that some of the dubs are buying their ministry school answers from the internet!!

There used to be a website I would use to get all of the scriptures and references for all of the meetings. It was a great time saver as everything I needed for each study was prepared. I thought it was nice of the brothers and sisters who were doing this and I felt bad when the WTBTS's legal department wrote them to stop.

We can understand why the legal department would need to object. They have to avoid dilution of copyright even if there is no violation. Although I believe that these small excerpts are allowed by the principle of fair use, there's a higher principle that we follow. Jehovah told the Israelites not to eat pork and other foods. The Israelites didn't know why they couldn't eat them, but those who obeyed were protected and blessed. I don't know why the legal department doesn't want us to do this copying and pasting and formatting for the benefit of others. At the same time I hope that by obeying, we'll be protected from something that I know nothing about.

of course, the question was rheoctorical, the audience didn't answer.

the tower is tricky isn't it?unfulfilled predictions.

individual jehovahs witnesses have made predictions over the years regarding specific dates and events that have not come to pass.

Since I have been taught that certain, non-encyclopedic information does not belong on wikipedia, I have been directed to place such information on the WikiQuote site instead.

I will attempt to reproduce the old quotes.ca pages on this venue while incorporating my observations outside of the quotes in order to abide by the Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C. § 107 http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Watchtower_Quotes and put up some information.

I am thankful that this existed in the first place and it help me to see things much more clearly that the WTBTS has not acted as a faithful steward towards the people.

Thanks for bringing this topic up. I wanted to find out what publications that the JW's use in order to subvert Jesus' place that His Father had established and granted Him authority to receive obeisance. Is there such a place where it says that Jesus is not the mediator between man and God? I would like to present this information to a friend of mine.

Wikipedia being abused by Jehovahs Witnesses

i had a look at the wikipedia entry for jehovahs witnesses yesterday and noticed that it wasn't as comprehensive as it once was.. most links to non-pro-jw sites have gone as is anything truly critical or exposing of their beliefs and practices.. last night i added a link to this site to the "other sources" section.

this morning it is gone.. i wonder whether this is some private zealot who has decided to do it or an organised campaign?.

ub: I had no ill intent when I initially posted. However, being a novice in the wiki-world I soon realized that my intentions were viewed as ignorant and 'assy. I initially had thought about saying that I created one to preserve this information but then thought that it might not be a good idea until I had a chance to see how people would react.

c: I'm not here to post 'embarrassing' things about something just for the sake of embarrassing them, unless you believe what the WTBTS stands for. I wanted to preserve published documents that so many people here have been able to use in learning the truth. Maybe the wiki was not the right avenue for this information, but instead of helping a person to realize this, condescending words and actions were the things given.

I appreciate your words of encouragement as you do what you believe is the right thing to do, but I ask you to be mindful of how you do it. The difference in helping someone learn is in the delivery of the information. Keep up the good work that you do.

Advice for my sister

my sister and her husband have been attending an evangelical church and they attend what's called a home team meeting.

it sort of reminds me of bookstudy but without the books.

anyway, she had sent me a couple of letters that her husband had sent and the replies and i wanted to get some feedback from ya'll.
