strange video.
.
don't know if i'm late to this thing, but it is just has me totally confused!
Weird. I was surprised they actually showed someone filling out a "not at home sheet" (or whatever the hell they are officially called). We were always told to never to fill them out on the street because the householders might see us and think we are writing reports on them (which is exactly what we were doing). I'm also surprised they had enough free time to do this. It smacks of a creepy Pat Boonish Witness spin in the traditon of Edward Gorey/Tim Burton. Just weird.

since leaving the jw's most of us have also left most of their doctrine.
so that being the case, most of us have left the wt understanding of 1914. now you know that the wt claims that satan was hurled out of heaven in that year down to the vicinity of the earth.
so the question is: if 1914 is just another year to us, then what are your thoughts as to the whereabouts of satan and his followers?.
When I wake in the middle of the night having a panic attack, it's not Satan I'm freaking out about, it's Jehovah.

how far in your life would you turn back time and why?
what would you hope to change?.
abr.
Great question.
I've often thought about that. So many mistakes, so many missed opportunities. I look at it this way: if I'd changed some aspect of my life even one iota, would I have met my wife? Would I have met the friends I so dearly cherish? Would I have written the songs and stories I have shared with those I love? I don't believe in fatalism, but I do believe in the reality that I've created with the people I love. If I want to change something now, I will. I don't want to be in charge of the unknowable. That would take all the fun, mystery, excitement, and challenge out of life. Sure I spend a lot of time on this forum bitching about my upbringing... but to be in control of the past would destroy the one thing I am: Me. I am the sum of my own good and bad decisions. I can't turn back time, and that makes me excited about now.

my wife works this evening and i don't really feel like working on music.
can anyone recommend a dvd to rent?
i like comedy, drama, or documentaries.
You sure you're in Blockbuster and didn't wander into the Kingdom Hall by mistake?
LOL!
I've seen all their videos. The production quality sucks. Have you ever seen "Respect Jehovah's Authority"? I have it on VHS. I remember how proud they were of the CGI "special effects." The acting was akin to the arm flailing you would see at any D.C. drama.

Hi Tall Penguin,
Little Miss Sunshine was the last movie I rented. I found it really refreshing... It was great. I'm asking for advice because it feels when I go into a rental place my brain gets sucked out of my head. I just wander about aimlessly and nothing looks good.

the bible says that the truth will liberate you or set you free.. the watchtower applies this to their religion as if their "truth" sets people free.. if that's the case, how were you set free when you became a jw?.
It freed me of a lot of my time and money.

I'm not really into action or horror, though I don't mind a good suspense film. I'm looking forward to an evening all by myself next to the fireplace in pyjamas with a big bowl of popcorn and a stiff drink! Thanks!

p.s. I also don't really need porn recommendations.
do you have any funny pet pics?
misanthropic's puppy pics reminded me of a picture i had of our cat chillin' in a sink.
it's ironic in that she is extremely afraid of water - even little drops that splash on her.
Here is my big nasty boy. He loves playing in the sheets.
He is also fond of shedding too. We've gone through SOO many
vacuum cleaners.... But we love him.
