  my parents became jw's in 1972 - i was 6 yrs old.

  i followed their lead, baptized at 15, regular pioneer at 19, ms at 21, elder at 27. have given district and circuit talks, tms overseer yada, yada, yada... .

  last september i stopped and haven't looked back.

  REPOST: For mothers who have lost a child

  on mother's day we often forget those who are mother's but never had the chance to hold their child.

  some because they chose to give their child up for adoption.

  others because of miscarriage or stillbirth.

  How beautiful Lady Lee. Although I never gave birth to a child we were blessed with a daughter through

  adoption. She many times broke our heart but she is still the light pf my life. I often think abour her birth mother, Does she think of the little girl she gave birth to and wonder how she grew up?

  I know I would.

  We now have 3 beautiful grandkids to love and spoil so my life feels complete.

  Please God bless all the mothers out there, those who gave their children a better chance through adoption and those who raised their children and those who I know would have been and will be wonderful moms.

  i have found one of my old jw friends from when i was a teenager.

  i discovered her on myspace and wrote her message and it turns out that she is out of the religion and doing well.

  this is the first time i have met one of my friends from my inner circle who has left the jw religion...i'm so excited!

  ...teased, harrassed, tormented in school because you were jw and couldn't participate in what other students participated in?

  how old were you when it began to happen?

  how did you feel and how did you react to it?

  I remember some teasing around 3-4 grade.

  Mom & Dad had the teachers send me to the library or set a desk in the hall for me.

  What fun, I got to do school work while the other kids had a party. Sounds fair don't it?

  greetings from another newbie

  well... i've finally worked up the courage to get an account & start posting on this site.

  i've been lurking for a couple of months now, voraciously reading all the, mmm, "delightful words of truth" i've found here.

  i'm currently deep in dubdom, so i have to be pretty ambiguous about some personal details, (i'm really paranoid, hopefully that will pass :-/) but my story in a nutshell is: i was born into this religion, baptised in my mid teens, happily married to a wonderful (& thankfully, somewhat open-minded) jw lady, & now, several years later, i'm starting to seriously question some of what i believe.
