  HELP!! ** Do you have a stop smoking strategy??**

  ok, ok, i know it's bad for you and it uses up your cash but i need to stop but i quite like it.

  i should never have started (heard that before) but hey ho what's done is done.. did you have a puff and if so did you manage to quit?

  any ideas/suggestions warmly received.

  Some apostates are more equal than others...

  ever noticed that the most cleverest apostates are the ones that were "brought up in the truth"?

  i mean people like little toe, leolaia and narkissos who provide the most intelligent dicsussions on the forum - they never chose the witnesses, but were dragged up in it.

  do you think maybe they can't help but look down on the rest of us who were stupid enough to actually choose to become witnesses?

  First of all, I never looked down on anyone in the Org. I may have come to dislike some, but I didn't look down on them.

  Secondly, I especially don't look down at any one here.

  Look, when we were in the Org. we did what we did. We did what we were taught. We did what we thought was right. We tried to convert people into the Org. and some of us were very successful at it. We didn't think we were harming people, we thought we were doing good.

  There is no need to beat yourself up, because if you were born into it, you had no choice, but you are making your choice NOW.

  If you were converted, you thought you were doing the right thing, and by being here you are making an informed choice, not an uninformed choice.

  We can't totally undo what was done to us, but we can do the best we can and that's all.

  Hopefully, our experiences in the Org. and here will keep us from looking down at others whether they are in or out of the Org.

  It's called compassion. Have it with others, but especially with yourself.

  How many languages can you "speak"?

  even though i am myself deaf, i can speak english pretty well and i also do america sign language.

  I speak English and if I was stranded in Mexico, I could speak enough Spanish to get along. I also speak "Music". If I was stranded in Italy, I might be able to get along a little bit.

  Post your JW demon stories

  it seems that for jws, the demon thing is one of the few "eyewitness" confirmations of what the wts says.

  there seems to be such an atmosphere of confirming testimonials that the jws relate back and forth to each other...but are they factual accounts or simply recycled "urban legends"?.

  interestingly, the most dramatic demon stories are nearly always something that happened to someone else.. why is it that jws have seen more "demons" than anyone i've ever known in my life?

  This Past Sunday My Wife Took Me To The Elders!

  early sunday morning, around 1:30 a.m., my wife wakes me and says that she can't sleep and needs to talk with me.

  i say ok and she proceeds to tell me that she wants a seperation.

  i was hurt, but not shocked, because our relationship is not that close at this point after 14 yrs of marriage.

  Enlight:

  You were not abusive, you didn't stop her from going to the meetings, and YOU even went to the meetings and service. I don't see how she would have grounds for separation.

  You did have doubts about the Org., so what can you do? Deny it?

  I've often thought what would happen if I were found out here, even though I have covered my tracks pretty well. If I was found out, I would just have to 'fess up and get it over with, even though there would be 1000 fiery hell's to pay.

  Sorry about your situation, and I feel for you. I might be in your position someday and if I am, I will need JWD more than ever. If you need a listening ear, p.m.me.

  Met a Laid off Bethel Couple

  i met a married couple caught up in the recent bethel layoffs.

  they are a fairly young couple in their mid to upper 30s, i didn't think to ask which department they worked in before being laid off.

  the couple was driving cross country from new york to california, and stopping overnight at jw homes along the way.

  What are apostate lies?

  with the hotting up of the wt articles about not listening to apostate lies.

  i was wondering, when you where in the borg did you ever wonder what these "lies" were.. its a strange thing but i never did.

  i never even knew what they said about us and i didnt care.. in other walks of life, if you hear that someone has been lied about, you usually want to know what it is (well i do cos im nosey) but in all my 20 years i didnt wonder about what the apostates were saying.
