Thank you Elders of the Congregation - James
by James__84 inremember this, that i was the one requesting that our views and opinions should be more openly expressed to others and a way of communicate other than what god has provided, i am a proficent writter with 4-5years expressing how i feel to others through this communication... i did meet something in the backyard when i was 5yrs old and at that moment i vowed to have peace in my life, forever paradise for my heart.
i am glad you have opened this up for everyone to expirence a unification through words, words like, "and in the beggining the word was god and god was the word.
" i know sometimes i change how these words are but the way i feel inside sometimes my heart expresses it differently... a child unlike any other making changes in the world because thier was a child who saw a problem with this world, and to just reach out and maby touch the missled to just show a little.

Your sister needs to know because she has chosen a bad person for a role model. You were never sworn to secrecy about her sexual shennanigans.
No wonder this woman advocates your shunning - she wants to the minimise the risk of you blabbing to anyone that could shake the pedestal she has jumped on.
O.K. I'll admit my bitter side is wanting you to extract revenge. But I will say this. If someone attacked/raped my child, I would turn them in to police even though they had a wife/husband/child. If someone robbed me I would turn them in to police even though they had a child/wife, etc. and it would be hard on them.
This women is getting a free ride. She is part of the reason you are shunned by your sister. At the very least I would let my sister know that she isn't all she's cracked up to be. Maybe at least ask your sister to question this woman about what you are saying.
If this man wants to cleanse his conscience, then he should unburden himself to the "spiritual shepherds" so that all is known. Maybe at least he will feel better.

My Mom died yesterday
by skeptic1914 inmy mom passed away yesterday.
she was a die-hard jw.
i tried to explain why i couldn't accept certain teachings but rather than rationally consider what i had to say she chose to believe i was just "confused".

I lost my dad and my mom is over eighty, and does not have long. It hurts, but is inevitable as we get older. I do not pretend to know anymore what happens at death, but still believe that Jesus brought people back to life and counts us all as precious. He said he died so that we might live so I still have some hope that somewhere we may all be together again.

Yes, I agree with the poster that this could wreak havoc on the lives of the husband and child of this woman, but did she care that she may have done this to others? She is the one that wishes to live by the codes of shunning that the WTS serves up. She is willing to do this to others. She is willing to continue pioneering without a thought to the lives of others.
If she wants to live by the shunning/turn in everyone policy, then she should not be hypocritical. If it's good enough for everyone else to adhere to, it's good enough for her, too.
She obviously wants to be viewed as more righteous than everyone else. Other lesser ones can be shunned, but not her.
The elders who made my teen daughter read a scripture that she was filth in God's eyes and would burn in the fire with the devil and his angels, and called her a liar because she would not confess to fornication, after they admitted that there were no witnesses and no accusations of such a thing have families. I do not care about the impact to their families if I could dig up any dirt on these @#$%$ and get them df'd I would in a minute. They are self-righteous $h*&^s and I would like for everyone to know what kind of people they really are!!!!

Some new ones here are experiencing the pain of shunning, or the despair of realizing that their whole system of beliefs is shattered because they were told lies and were expected to unquestioningly go along. We may have read that some have been driven to suicide. We can, though, make a difference in the lives of others by being here for them. One person can be everything to another at the right time.
This poem was sent to employees in my school district by the superintendent:
The Impact of One
One song can spark a moment, one flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest, one bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship, one handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea, one word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation, one sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness, one laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey, one word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits, one touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom, one heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference, and may that one be you.

I believe we should not be too hard on this poster. The WTS is already working their magic on him. He is feeling guilt-ridden for accepting a pension for something he EARNED. He is afraid that no matter what he does, his worship may be viewed as worthless. I would say the WTS has him exactly where it wants him.
Guilt, guilt, and more guilt. Oh, and never good enough, no matter what you do.
Welcome to the forum.

After reading your further posts, I just know that really, I think I would have to go to her and tell her about your conversation with the man. I would want to see her sweat, and then ask her just how she goes about shunning others when you know what she has done. Then just stand there and look at her, and wait for an answer.
Same thing if it has to be done over the phone. Maybe you could even tape the conversation, and send it to your sister, even if you did not intend to turn it over to the elders, and told your sister this. Then sis would either have to live with it, and still shun you, or she would have to make a decision and be the one to wreak havoc with this family.
I feel that after the way my family was treated by this organization, and seeing the truth that their image is their ultimate concern, the gloves are off.

I would say that mom means well. Two years ago I would have admired her for "reaching out" to those in grief. Really I would say that she is trying to be helpful. She has been totally indoctrinated into JW teachings, and seems sincere. I know I was. I honestly wanted to help people.
I would say have patience. Try to get little points across one at a time. Maybe a little reason will eventually bear fruit.
You don't have to explain mom's actions to others. They will look at the material she gives them and form their own opinion.

Shouldn't this man be the one to "confess" to the elders concerning this pioneer sister? If the information comes from you, will they believe you?
How can she ever truly be happy in her pioneering with this burden of sin on her soul? Wouldn't it be a kindness to help her unburden herself to the spiritual undershepherds of the congregation so that they could pray over her, grease her head with oil, and forgive her sins?
Think of her wonderful spiritual family and how they will all be so happy for her that she has had spiritual "help" from the elders.
Think of how the entire congregation will benefit, because, as we know, most elders "accidently" leak info to others from time to time, and news spreads.
